I've read the same, though if it doesn't happen its going to start sounding like the Cam Newton evidence repeating over and over again.

Sounds like the NCAA is going to grant immunity to former UM players to testify against the program. I never thought we would again see the Death Penalty, but we might see it here. Things are going from bad to worse very quickly for the Canes.

Immunity from what? Personal records not being stricken?

Wasn't there a chance they could be financially implicated with Shapiro for receiving benefits paid for by his ponzi scheme? I saw headlines to that effect but didn't really read on. Not sure how the NCAA could offer that immunity either.

Yeah that doesn't make sense. If the IRS wants to pursue anything they will and they won't give a [expletive] about the NCAA.

Lache Seastrunk to Baylor is done. Good $25,000 spent by Oregon. Sounds like Lache is going to try to get a medical hardship of some sort completed to play immediately.

Sick grandma excuse. Now Baylor coach Art Briles had a relationship with Willie Lyles when Briles was at the University of Houston (nudge nudge wink wink).

The rumblings I'm hearing is that A&M to the SEC will go down on Wednesday. We'll see if I had good info in the next 48 hours.

info = bad

Not happening today. #-o

I've heard Saturday now during a supposed Big 12 Conference Call. Who knows at this point, though it sounds like the exit fee will be less should it be done quickly.

lol, so 12 months after they signed back on with the Big 12 and agree to work things out, aTm freaks out over HS stuff on LHN and tries to move to the SEC, and while they're trying to do that, all the HS stuff on LHN gets struck down. Outstanding.

Purdue's staring QB out w/torn ACL 9 days before the season starts. I guess that's what we're known for nowadays.

That and women's basketball. You see there's little thing called Title IX. Prime Minister Pelosi should be able to explain further.

We haven't even been known for women's basketball for a decade. Also, I didn't mean 'staring quarterback' haha. I meant starting.

From losing eligibility. There were several UM players who have transfered to other schools and are still playing.

I'm now hearing by Saturday, as well. We shall see. I'm ready for this to be over.

It's not just about the LHN. We should have made the move last year, but I think our administration really wanted to make an attempt at salvaging what we all knew was a dying conference. Maybe that was just for political reasons so we could say that we did what we could to save the Big 12 or maybe they actually felt that would be best. Either way, many (if not most) Aggies were ready to bolt last year. We need stability. When the Big 12 crumbles and everyone moves to the superconferences, we'll have our place in the SEC already and the other schools will be scrambling not to be left out. I don't think that would have happened to us, but now we won't have to worry about that.

Official press release:

TEXAS A&M NOTIFIES BIG 12 OF CONFERENCE EXPLORATION

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M University today officially notified the Big 12 Conference that it is exploring options related to the institution’s athletic conference affiliation. Texas A&M also requested that the Big 12 outline the process to be followed should the university elect to withdraw from the conference.

In the letter to Big 12 Commissioner Dan Beebe, Texas A&M President R. Bowen Loftin indicated that if the university withdraws from the conference, Texas A&M would do so in a way that complies with the Big 12’s bylaws.

Additionally, Texas A&M would be supportive of the Big 12’s efforts to seek a new member of the conference.

“As I have indicated previously, we are working very deliberately to act in the best long-term interests of both Texas A&M and the State of Texas. This truly is a 100-year decision,” said Loftin. “While we understand the desire of all parties to quickly reach a resolution, these are extremely complex issues that we are addressing methodically.”

I was going to ask for that as Bill Liucci saying so doesn't count.

I get what you're saying, but the dude has the most accurate info out there on A&M mainly because he doesn't run with every rumor he hears. He'll confirm something as much as possible before saying anything definitive.

Two weeks ago I would have believed it on the spot. I don't distrust him, just the past two weeks of all the rumors. It was starting to feel like the Brian Roberts or Peavy threads.
