the Illini capped off their class by getting Jon Davis, a 4 star TE out of kentucky who may get a look at WR or linebacker, as he is super fast for the TE position.

the class for illinois isn't very high profile, but there are a lot of rumblings that it's very talented. o'toole should have ended up a 4 star, and he's a possible franchise-type qb as he was sun-times player of the year.

O'Toole was begging to come to KU, and we passed. I think that will be a huge mistake for us.

Overall, I'm very happy with KU's class. We even got a JUCO LB who had SEC offers to walk on. The talent and speed should be much improved. Christ, we need it, too. We looked like a HS team last year.

Wish we could have gotten a legit DT, but those are hard to come by.

Georgia Bulldawg fans here are very happy. They got pretty much everyone they wanted. Richt's seat was getting very hot, but I think this buys him at least two more years.

I'd hope they are happy...that class is extremely top heavy.

Missouri with a decent, though not great, class this year. However at this point I have no reason to doubt Pinkel & staff's ability to recruit and evaluate talent, so there should be a few gems there.

There's like a dozen 3 star Texans, so I'm sure there will be a couple big hits on that. It was going to be a small class to begin with, so getting Richardson and Berkstresser are decent headliners as long as that depth pans out.

Cyrus Kouandjio wil not sign today according to the reports. Might open things back up.

I'm hearing that his parents wanted him to join his brother at Bama and are wanting to visit AU before giving their blessing....but that is not from a super reliable source. Auburn can survive without him considering the other OL that signed in this class, but none are as physically gifted as Cyrus. It would sting to lose both Calloway and Kouandjio to Alabama on signing day.

Rasco signs with LSU finishing off the class with 22. They are not signing Kenny Hill who previously committed but has gotten himself into some big legal issues.

Rasco is a big pickup for LSU, and you are referring to Jeremy Hill...who is charged with oral sexual battery. He evidently let a freshman blow him in his school bathroom. She is 14, he's 18, and he was considered a very talented RB recruit. 'Was' being the key word...I wonder if he'll have to serve time for this....

...and this Gabe Wright kid is a real character. He's a 4 star DT recruit who strung both AU and UT along as has been documented in this thread. When he sat down to sign his LOI today, he put on an Auburn hat that had "Nick Who?" written on the cap.....referring to Nick Fairley. I'm glad he signed with AU, but I'm not a big fan of his antics.

Yeah, I did mean Jeremy. And yes, he is accused of sexual battery. He's no longer enrolled at Redemptrist HS. My guess is that if he escapes jail time, he will have to go the juco route. He was supposedly a very talented RB. He lacked break-away speed, but was extremely quick and found the holes very well....in the case of the freshman in the bathroom, maybe too well.

Missing on both Gabe Wright and Timmy Jernigan hurt, but this was still a good to very good class for UT. It helps that there are quite a few 3 stars who I keep hearing analysts say ought to be 4 stars.

This could become a great to incredible class depending on Dooley and staff's ability to develop the intriguing players.

Biggest gets: Maurice Couch and Antonio Richardson. Honorable mention to Marlin Lane and Curt Maggitt.

At least they finally closed the deal on Richardson.

Yeah I think Berkstresser is the real deal. Leftwich should be something to watch. I'm really stoked about Shane Ray, I think he's going to be a playmaker. Also interested in Ernest Payton if he gets on campus (I mean, a 6'3" corner? Holy [expletive])

Yeah, just gotta hope he gets here. I'm not sold on him being here until he actually enrolls.

Torian White, a 3-star OT, had been committed to UCLA for 8 months and flipped today to USC when he announced on FOX Sports TV. Then, he flipped back to UCLA 3 hours later. Obviously not going to beat the story of the mom forging her son's signature but still pretty odd.

From what I have been told, UT coaches came into today confident about Wright, with the person who told me that implying that they heard that from him yesterday. Tennessee turned down a kid named Sage Harold from Virginia because they thought they had Wright in the bag. Sage Harold is a fringe D1 prospect, whose younger brother is going to be a Top 100 prospect in 2012 and who wanted to be a package deal with his brother. Since UT turned him away, it apparently burned a bridge with the family. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

And when Wright put on the hat (backwards) you could read that it said "NICK WHO?" My initial reaction was that it was geared toward Saban, and my first thought when he was turning it around was "please don't be a Tennessee hat." That really turned me off. It was bush-league. But, I still wish it had said Tennessee when it was turned around.

Ole Miss completely annihilated MS State in recruiting this year. We got 8 of our state's Dandy Dozen and they only got 1. We got a 5 star and six 4 stars and they only got one 4 star. There's always been speculation that Mullen is a terrible recruiter and just a weird dude to begin with. There was an article published a while back where Tebow said that he almost didn't go to Florida because of Mullen.

I was very pleased to see Mississippi State have subpar recruiting year.

Sounds like Michigan is hiring Curt Mallory as defensive backs coach. Another "Michigan Man". Any of you Illini fans know much about him? Was he decent during his time at Illinois? Seems like a very underwhelming hire.
