AU had to replace Marcus Roberson's spot. I've heard that coaches decided not to accept Roberson's commitment yesterday and Whitehead was the contingency plan (a very nice contingency plan). I'm not sure what happened with Roberson, but I've heard there may have been a character issue that surfaced. Roberson will end up at Florida I believe..

Brent Calloway is a highly regarded LB/RB prospect who was a Bama commit and then flipped to Auburn and has now flipped back to Bama on signing day. He wanted to play RB, and AU was going to give him the opportunity, but his father wants him to play LB at Bama....Anyway, that was bad news...but AU did just get revenge. Cyrus Kouandjio just signed with AU. Kouandjio is the #1 offensive tackle in the nation, and his brother plays at Bama...most thought he would end up in Tuscaloosa.

 

Auburn has an amazing offensive line class with Reese Dismukes at C, Greg Robinson at OG, and Westerman and Kouandjio at OT. They needed a big offensive line class to help replace the 4 departing seniors.

Cleveland Police said a 15-year-old girl told officers that Carter took her out of her classroom and into a room behind the JFK auditorium and told her he needed to measure her for the uniform.

 

"Once inside the room, (Carter) asked the victim to take off her sweatshirt and shirt so he could take her measurements," the police report said. "He cut off the lights. . . and stated 'I need you to take your bra off.' The arrested male than put his arms under her arms from behind and attempted to pull her bra up."

 

The girl told police she refused to cooperate and left the room.

 

Police said when they talked to Carter he admitted that he had fondled other girls using the same ruse. Police asked him to give them the book that he used to record the measurements and he turned it over.

 

"The book revealed more victims," the report said, noting there was measurement information for eight girls in the book.

not really last minute...Dismukes enrolled in January and will compete for a starting job in spring training. Robinson was an early December commit. Westerman commited about a month ago. Kouandjio is the only one who was undecided until today. In fact, he's still undecided. He chose AU on ESPN today, but we haven't received his LOI. He's wavering, evidently....not good.

 

edit - ...but AU did just receive Gabe Wright's LOI....and I understand why Tennessee guys would speak badly of the kid now. Like I said, he commited to both UT and AU some time ago, and both universities were confident he would sign with them.

LSU had no real surprises. It's not a great class, but it's not bad either.

 

They did a good job getting the blu chippers from in-state that they wanted, and that's good.

it'd be nice if we can get Leilon Willingham too and secure a pretty good class

the Illini capped off their class by getting Jon Davis, a 4 star TE out of kentucky who may get a look at WR or linebacker, as he is super fast for the TE position.

 

the class for illinois isn't very high profile, but there are a lot of rumblings that it's very talented. o'toole should have ended up a 4 star, and he's a possible franchise-type qb as he was sun-times player of the year.

Not a big class, coming off a 4-8 season and they took 3 weeks to hire a DC. Pathetic but not surprising.

 

Torian White picks USC after being committed to UCLA for a year. Apparently he was all set to pick UCLA and as he walked through the FOX Sports studio, he changed his mind. I didn't even mind a crappy class as long as they got Brett Hundley and a bunch of OL but White is the most recent OL they've lost. Sigh.

Missouri with a decent, though not great, class this year. However at this point I have no reason to doubt Pinkel & staff's ability to recruit and evaluate talent, so there should be a few gems there.
