I'm so torn on what I've watched today. On the one hand, I don't really enjoy cheering for Alabama or Florida. On the other, I thoroughly enjoy the thought of a certain B1G honk on the south side of Chicago stomping around his house and berating his television set.

It was pretty hard not to see this coming. Alabama and Florida have BCS caliber talent, and Michigan's defense sucks. Hopefully Bucky and OSU can get it done. On a side note, I hope Illinois never plays in the Ticketcity Bowl.

Yes, everyone saw the Bama/Sparty beatdown coming, but I don't think nearly as many people saw the Florida win coming. Florida has not been very good this year. Actually, they have been atrocious late, and with no offensive identity and the loss of their best defensive player, this game was a toss-up. I actually wanted to see Penn State and Sparty both win, but there is solace in the biggest of all B1G schills having to stew all offseason thinking about "SEC speed."

and tennessee gets to stew all offseason thinking about choking away a game to north [expletive] carolina and just generally being terrible.

Nice drive.

Run it for the 2 pointer?

They absolutely should have, in my opinion. They've thrown the ball way too much this game. They've rushed for 226 yards, at 4.9 yards per carry. Their top two backs (on the day) have been even better: John Clay (6.9 ypc) and Montee Ball (6.0 ypc). They just jammed the ball down TCU's throats the entire drive and they pass needing only three yards. Run the ball.

Definitely. You have to go with your strength and what's been working.

Also, horrible onside kick. Not sure why you don't have your guys take a running start because they weren't even close to getting the kick. And the kicker got a good bounce off the ground also.

I don't understand the playcalling by the Badgers for most of that game.

They established the run early, then for a lot of the 2nd quarter they were almost exclusively pass. Then on their final drive they run almost the entire length of the field, only to go for the pass (which they really didn't establish all game long) on the 2 pt conversion? That's some Dusty Baker level logic right there.

I'd be interested in hearing what Brett has to say in the post game press conference.

It just went way too far, the guy caught it about 5 yards past the 10 yard marker

Worse bowl season so far - the Big 10 or Big 12?
Posted

Of course, the Big Ten wasn't favored in any of their 8 matchups to this point, so they're actually doing better than anticipated. Northwestern and Wisconsin beat the spread, as well.

State of Michigan with a not-so-good showing, though.
