This thread can also serve as the all-purpose thread for Army/Navy next week, the FCS playoffs, and whatever other college football news happens to sprout up. I think last year there was a separate coaching changes thread, so if someone wants to start that, feel free.

Kill's not coaching in the bowl game and he usually takes his entire staff when he moves, so I expect NIU to get rolled.

First time ever that all three I-A teams in the state have made a bowl.

I really don't like these non BCS bowls being played after the 1st for whatever reason.

At first I found it annoying, but then decided it's nice to have the option of watching a game just about every night for nearly a month.

The Big 12 has one bowl opponent in the Top 25.

Yes, but I thought we couldn't play too many bowls after the 1st because it interferes with studying and what not.

Most schools don't go back until the week after new year's at the earliest. Illinois was always after Martin Luther King weekend.

The teams themselves are only playing one game. It's the adding of 3-4 more games that is the problem.

I'm still stuck in the belief that New Year's Day and after bowl games should be something special. The GoDaddy.com Bowl with Miami (OH) vs Middle Tennessee should be played on Dec 15th instead of January 6th.

the Sagarin predictor (best single predictor for future games per Sags) has AU at #7 and Oregon at #2 (behind Stanford)....but vegas has AU as a 3 point favorite over Oregon currently.

I feel like BSU should be playing someone better

It's the curse of the mid-major teams. Go undefeated and you're in the BCS. Lose once, and you're in the "We'll [expletive] in your Mouth and You'll Like It" Bowl on December 12th. It would be nice to see these teams have the chance at at-large bids in bowls like the Capitol One, Cotton, Outback, etc.

yeah, i wish all of the lesser bowls were played in mid December as well...it feels weird to watch these kind of bowl games after some of the major ones have been played.

...also, I'm ashamed of the city in which i live for allowing the bowl to be called the 'godaddy.com bowl' this year...

Oklahoma is an 18-point favorite over UConn. I was wondering how high this spread was going to be.

That's crazy. I'm excited to matchup against #10 LSU. Should be a nice test to see how good we really are. Of course, losing yet another bowl game would be a discouraging way to end the season.
