Love has 10 20-20 games this year while the rest of the NBA has 17 20-20 games.

It seems like every time I watch someone talk about him they always say something like "He's playing really well although it's for a team that doesn't win" like it's his fault. I think people need to just realize he's really good no matter what team he's on.

Knicks the only NBA team that haven't beaten the Cavs yet. 0-3 so far.

Geez, that has to suck. I'm pretty sure 5 random NSBB'ers could at least hang with the Cavs.

Right, I am sure no one on here could get off a shot against any NBA player that was really attempting to play defense. And yes I know you were kidding, but that's so ridiculous.

I think people know he's good, but they fear that he could be putting up numbers like Shareef-Abdul Rahim and Al Jefferson did.

I understand that but his stats seem to be effort based. I've only watched the Wolves once this year (when they played the Bulls) but when you pull down as many rebounds as he does a lot of that is because of effort. I don't see why he wouldn't sustain that if he played for a good team.

Shareef-Abdul Rahim played for some terrible Grizzlies teams and he was pretty much a scorer and someone had to score on that team, from what I see and know so I don't think the comparison is similar. Granted, someone has to do something for Minnesota as well but I personally don't think the situations are the same.

I agree but most of us are at least as good as Jamario Moon

If you couldn't at least get a shot up without being blocked then you are very bad at basketball. I'm not saying it would be a great shot but it wouldn't be hard getting one up at least. Now if you said I doubt any of us would be able to make a shot then I would agree, except for the few hail marys that would be thrown up.

Yeah, as bad as Cleveland looks to the rest of the NBA (outside NY), they'd absolutely destroy Ohio State or pick-your-best-college-team.

the only thing 5 random NSBB'ers could do is beat Shaq in a free throw contest

That's probably not true either. You think 5 random posters could average even 40% from the line?

If I was one of the randoms, yeah. Free throws are easy to make if you have any clue what you're doing. I have to imagine that some of the bigger hoops fans on here have played some organized bball somewhere along the line.

It's not that FTs are hard, it just takes practice, and I seriously doubt the majority of posters here regularly do FT practice.

I played high school basketball with Ryan Bowen and it was damn near impossible to get a shot off against him. He barely played much in his 10 plus year NBA career. I then went on to play in a small college. So yeah, I don't think you know what you are talking about.

when i say 5 'random' i mean the most annoying type of person that tries hard in YMCA leagues and stuff, the overhyper white guy that thinks he's good at basketball type

i.e. definitely not me

It's way different shooting in a wide open arena with 20K in it compared to a YMCA, just saying.

5 random nsbb'ers couldn't beat a mid level woman's college basketball team

That's crazy as well. I played against a girl that was 2nd team all american when I was finishing up school at Iowa. She couldn't physically compete with the guys that could play, we were too strong.

A who's who, so to speak, could compete with a 2nd tier womens team or whatever, but if you put erik and kyle and three other losers on the court together, Popcorn Tech's womens team would murder them.

This I don't necessarily agree with. I honestly think there have been quite a few college teams over the years that could beat this Cleveland team especially when they were without Sideshow Bob and Mo Williams. The college 3 point line neuters the one on one game a lot because everyone is so packed in. You put a team like the Fab 5 or a guy like a 21-22 year old Lebron or Durant on a decent college team against a bad NBA team using NBA rules and I think they could take them.

Any player in an NBA rotation would star on the best college teams in the country. It would be no contest. Cleveland would win by 30+.

A star? Marvin Williams was just a guy on UNC and got drafted #2 overall.

You put Rose, King, Jackson, Howard, and Webber up against the 91 TWolves and you've got a game on your hands. When Jabbar was a freshman at UCLA he beat the defending national champion varsity team basically by himself. I don't think it's a stretch to say you put a talent like that on a good college team they could beat a bad NBA team.

There have certainly been college teams over the years with more star power than certain drecks of the NBA.

Zero doubt in my mind one of those Walton/Jabbar UCLA teams could've owned the bad NBA teams of the early 70s. This isn't football. One transcendent talent makes a huge, huge difference. Only the confines of college basketball stopped Jordan...not the other guys on the floor as evidenced by him being a 19ppg in college to rampaging the league the next season. You put a 21 year old MJ when he was playing with Sam Perkins, Kenny Smith, and Brad Daugherty up against a horrible NBA team of the mid 80s and they'd get waxed by 30? I don't see it.

Marvin Williams isn't an NBA rotation player.

Only the best of the best college players are even above average in their first year in the NBA after college, after an offseason of pure conditioning and training. I don't think you realize the gap between the college and pro games, especially now.
