I hope it is okay that I make a new NBA thread for non Bull fans.

The season opens tonight with the debut of the new look Miami Heat going to Boston. And the night ends with the defending 2x NBA Champion LA Lakers getting their rings and taking on the Rockets.

Should be a fun year. Go BUCKS!

That's gotta be a misprint by ESPN. The Bucks 10th in the league?

The Pistons will be mostly irrelevant, in that the ceiling is probably the 6 seed in the East. Jerebko's injury is a big blow before the season even starts. Austin Daye has been awesome in the preseason though. Having 14 guys (mostly veterans) who have been starters or key guys in competition at the 1-3 spots is going to spell disaster again.

So in terms of relevant teams, go Thunder and Jazz!

Somebody want to explain the Rockets love?

And are you all ready to root for the Celtics???

I think they could be decent. Brooks, Martin, Battier, Scola, Ming with players like Lowry, Courtney Lee, Budinger, Jefferies, and Brad Miller off the bench. Assuming Yao is only healthy for half the season at 25 MPG, that team could win 50.

Oh and I decided to root for the Heat in this one tonight upon learning a few weeks ago that 2K rated Rondo 2 ratings points higher than Rose in NBA2k11

I'm assuming league pass has a free preview this week?

there are a lot of teams I'm looking forward to watching. For some reason the NBA is second only to baseball in sports where I love to watch other teams besides the Bulls.

Its hard for me to get excited for the NBA regular season. I'm more excited to see OKC more than any team in the NBA right now. Hope Durant can continue his climb.

Let's all talk about how awesome Deron Williams is. Screw Rose and Rondo.

can we talk about how much we hate his weird face and dumb hair

Out of the three guys I mentioned Deron looks like a super model.

I'm getting sick of all the OKC hype so I almost hope they suck, even though I love durant. Durant is really the only one i like. I strongly dislike Westbrook, as I do all young point guards who are not Derrick Rose (Rondo, Wall, Westbrook, hell even Augustin).

I laugh at OKC and think how good they could have been had they picked Steph Curry instead of James Harden.

The smarter pick would've been Tyreke Evans. Taking Curry would've meant putting him at SG and that would be a disaster. And I'm sure Durant would've been more than happy to sacrifice points to Evans. That'd be an unstoppable combo in terms of going to the rim.

Another good one. Harden was just an awful choice.

Woj reporting that the Knicks broke draft rules by holding improper workouts with prospects and that Brandon Rush actually suffered the knee injury that knocked him out in 07 at one of these workouts. So basically the Knicks helped KU win the title by screwing up Rush's knee in an illegal work out and that made him go back to school.

That was hardly the only illegal act that helped that KU team win the title.

Because the rest of the West (besides the Lakers) is extremely weak.

Should be a fun year -- I'm looking really forward to it.

if it wasn't already clear from his offseason shenanigans what bosh's priorities are, let him clear it up for everyone-

Chris Bosh said on Tuesday that he doesn't mind sharing the spotlight with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade because "it’s all about being on TV, at the end of the day."

We wish that Bosh was kidding, but he wasn't -- he just loves attention. "Seriously," he continued, "A guy can average 20 and 10, nobody really cares. If you don’t see it, then it really doesn’t happen." Mercifully, we'll have better things to discuss once the season starts in a matter of hours.

can't wait to see how he does in the playoffs.

See what playing in Toronto does to people?

I'm pretty sure Bosh has always been that ugly.

I like tyreke, but he's a black hole on offense, and presti will never draft anyone without the upside of eventually being able to guard someone. Harden's gonna end up the worst of the three, but he's probably the best fit, I guess. Or maybe I'm just trying to convince myself. Harden will eventually get to start this season, so I guess I'll wait until then.

Im getting scared of this okc hype, im thinking we win 50 again, but probably make it to the second round of the playoffs.

Just 50?

Who in the West got better? Houston maybe. The Thunder are the only playoff team in the West who was going to get better just organically, everyone else is old as hell. They're a realistic 1 seed if the Lakers put it on cruise control in the regular season (as they probably should).
