McGeehee is pure luck... He was a projected utility player at best who would bring little offensively. I still think thats where he ends up.

I don't know about pure luck, but we have guys entrenched at both positions he can play. I suppose we could've kept him as a bench bat.

It really is sad that anything hit to LF I have to hold my breath for till I see it in his glove .

Which is silly, since it's tiny minority of the plays he handles that he ends up screwing up.

Everytime McGehee does something good I thank god Jim Hendry is our GM. Way to identify what you have Jimbo.

Nobody identified what they had. There's plenty to slam Hendry over, but expecting to somehow magically know that McGehee would have any type of sustained success in the majors based on what he had shown up until he was claimed is absurd.

I don't want to look it up, but didn't we have two spots open on the 40 man when we let him go? Couldn't we have at least tried to get something for him?

Casey McGehee sucks

No Aaron Miles sucks, but we had room for him on our team last year.

No, it is pretty much luck. When he was claimed he had shown basically nothing that would project him to be a backup player at best. He also hasn't proven that he will continue his success. Thinking that he has is like thinking Fontenot was set in stone.

Why bother? He was a zilch at the time.

I understand that, but anything he has to move to his left or right on is never easy for him. He does make the routine pop fly with relative ease, but moving side to side is an adventure. Hes so damn scared of that wall its ridiculous.

Well you can get pissed about everyone that was let go within the past year then, because they were likely more useful that Miles too

Not really. It's a brick wall and he's not an outfielder.

Because he was still our property and there was no reason to allow him to go to another team within the division for nothing. I know in the grand picture it doesn't matter a ton, but it's annoying as crap to watch him do pretty well for them knowing they didn't even give us anything for him.

He's scared of all walls, brick or not, and he's been in the OF for nearly half a decade now.

You're assuming they could have even gotten anything in return for him. You seem to be talking about him like they could have centered a trade around him when in reality he'd be a last minute add-on to a trade at best at the time.

Fantastic. He's still not an OFer and never will be.

I'm aware we wouldn't have got anything good for him, but at the least we could have sent him to the American League. Where he couldn't beat us.

Remember when Lou put Soriano at second at the end of a game in 2008 and everyone was getting excited that Lou may move him back?

The hilarity that would ensue would be epic.

I guess. It's really inconsequential in the grand scheme of things.
