pitching grabow in a tie game, bringing in grabow to face a lefty batter who has been better against lefties than righties since the beginning of 2009, etc. lou continues to provide plenty of reasons that he should be removed from his position.

I'm still trying to figure out why Lou brought Soto into the game to bat 9th and had the pitcher batting 8th.

Today's lineup management was so bad, the guy working for 6 bucks an hour updating Gameday did better at it.

maybe not, but the fact of the matter is that lou has repeatedly lessened our chance of winning games this year. honestly, he's dusty-bad now. i don't really care if he gets fired or not though, because this team isn't very good. but there should be no way that he's back next year.

I'm not on the fire lou bandwagon, but I'm curious about the decision to put Nady at DH against the only right hander we'll face this weekend. If we won't even get Colvin in the lineup tonight, he should be at Iowa.

Fire LOU

pinch-hitting Colvin for Soto when lefties are batting under .100 against Feliz (while righties are hitting over .300)

EDIT: Double, LOL

It isn't about getting Colvin in the lineup. It's about winning ballgames! Don't you forget it!

I've stuck by Lou right up until now. He looks totally detached from the games now and I really think he's just collecting a paycheck. He probably should have hung it up after last season. I just don't think his heart is in it anymore.

Information gap: Ryan Theriot began the day with a .267 on-base percentage in May, and had not drawn a walk since May 1.

"I haven't paid too much attention to it," Piniella said. "Are the numbers down a little bit?"

Piniella seemed stunned to learn of Theriot's lack of walks, calling it "unbelievable."

"Really? How about that?" he said. "He hasn't walked since the first of May? That is surprising. I wasn't aware of that."

Piniella said he was "comfortable" with Theriot batting second behind Kosuke Fukudome, though the Cubs are 7-0 with Starlin Castro in the 2-hole.

Isn't it Lou's job to know stats like this?

He's collecting a salary. He'd probably resign if he'd still be paid. I wouldn't be surprised if he really wants to be fired so he'd still get paid for the remainder of his contract.

I realize this is basically a transition year, but shouldn't this team at least have a manager who is paying attention?

Theriot leading off today while Fuku hits 5th unbelievable. Jeff Baker is also starting vs a RH pitcher instead of Fontenot. Genius

and Soriano is getting the day off so you use the RHed Nady that can't throw instead of Colvin, but those other two are much worse.

Oh yea I mentioned the whole Soriano getting a day off in the game thread too. He's OPS'ing over a 1.000 this month and just had a offday but hey let's give him a day off in favor of Nady because Nady hit a Homerun last night. I'm sure Fontenots error at 3rd is the primary reason he's sitting today too.

Soriano is OPS'ing over 1.000 this month? Really? I didn't realize that.

Wait, Nady hit HR last night too? Wow man, thanks for the info.
