pinch hitting options in the 8th inning, with stats this season:

chad tracy: .154/.214/.231/.445

xavier nady: .200/.314/.300/.614

alfonso soriano: .292/.356/.508/.864

geovany soto: .362/.516/.511/1.027

you're using two pinch hitters back to back. pick two.

Are we trying to win or lose the game?

Please dont take this wrong way thinking I am rubbing on you guys or anything, but this move was absolutely insane. I cannot figure out what Lou was thinking on this one. And Cubs are playing home not on the road which makes this even worse.

Plus, here's the kicker: one of those two batters is the current catcher, so Soto will be entering the game anyway.

Yeah, blame the players Lou. Not the fact that you chose Chad Tracy over Soto. Quite frankly, I would've just left Hill into hit. I have a lot more faith in him than I do Chad Tracy who is just awful.

I got distracted. Did Fontenot try to move the runner and failed, then popped out? Or he just popped out?

He was swinging the bat. The impression I get is that he was directed to move the runner over that way. And to be honest, I don't disagree with that. A left hander should be able to ground out and get the runner over.

I don't like this. If all you're trying to do with your AB is make an out on the ground then just bunt the damn ball.

I am so excited to hear Lou's press conference where absolutely no one will ask him about anything he did.

lou should absolutely be grilled by the press for how badly he managed that 8th inning.

i accepted some of his idiotic in-game decisions when the players were performing well, but now most of the players aren't performing well and his managing is costing this team chances to win ballgames. time to fire his ass and replace him with someone who can motivate the players while making adequate in-game decisions.

I know Lou has talked about retiring after the Cubs gig, so why not get him started early on his retirements plans and canned his ass? I mean Colorado recognize the fact that Clint Hurdle was no longer the man needed, so they fired him and replace him with Jim Tracy and Colorado hasn't looked back sense?

This team is healthy, and it's a month into the season, and this team is still struggling. A new vioce is needed.

I'd like to see what Trammell can do with this roster. This management team is quick with the hook when someone isn't performing, but no one is there with the hook when the management team isn't performing.

Maybe they can fire another hitting coach. That ought to get the job done.

leadoff double by byrd today; lou declines to bunt for fontenot (who pops out) and then pinch hits the awful chad tracy against clippard, resulting in (believe it or not) a strikeout.

lou is severely hampering this team's ability to win baseball games and needs to be fired.

Its all about Lous righty/lefty [expletive]. If the game was on the line vs. a RHP, and the 2 options were Albert Pujols and Paul Bako, Lou would shose Bako without thinking twice.

we were out of lefties and Lou chose to go with the worst option possible rather than the guy who would have to come in to catch anyway the next inning. duh.

plus (someone pointed this out in the game thread, i think) clippard has reverse splits (tougher against lefties) and that goes back to his minor league days. but God forbid lou get off his fatass and open a book to find that out; the guy on the mound throws with his right hand so let's send up the lefty without thinking about it for 2 seconds.
