  1. Sorry, My bad. I should have put this in General Baseball Discussion.
  2. I am surprised Atlanta is at #14. They are much better team than some of the teams above them.
  3. If cost is an issue – and if we're looking in-house only then it is – I really doubt we'd have enough to lure Mazzone out. He'd be a great hire, though. Yes. As a Cardinals fan, I think Leo Mazzone would be a great for Cubs. I live in Atlanta and listen to him on the sports radio everyday. Some of his analysis of pitchers makes me shake my head and it happens often.
  4. Your logic is outstanding. The Bears are better because they beat Green Bay? Sure. And have a better record and better players. It's the only impressive victory on either team's schedule. Regardless, my argument is more about the fact that calling them bad in the preseason was not dumb and is not nearly as big a mistake as calling Dallas good. They are 4-4 and in the bottom half of the NFL. I just wanted to point out that the Rams did beat the Chargers in San Diego. IMO that's more impressive than the Bears beating a Packers team penalized 18 times at home. The Chargers may be 4-5 and may have been in the middle of their annual early season malise, but according to DVOA team rankings the Chargers have been a better overall team this year (7th overall vs. GB's 10th), and I believe the Chargers had the gained the most yards and allowed the least yards in football up until this week. Just wanted to point that out, although that doesn't mean the Rams are better than the Bears by any means. I think there is a small but clear division between the Bears and the Rams at this point. Rams beat Chargers in St.Louis.
  5. Today's Cardinals lineup: 3B Felipe Lopez RF Jon Jay 1B Albert Pujols LF Matt Holliday CF Colby Rasmus 2B Skip Schumaker C Jason LaRue P Jeff Suppan SS Tyler Greene
  6. Albert Pujols MAY be available after 2011 season. I don't expect him to be but you never know..
  7. You guys should try to get pitching prospects from Braves. They do have good ones. And also try to get Freddie Freeman as a replacement for Derek Lee.
  8. Don't screw up your swing, Matt.
  9. Strasburg? The guy who hasn't pitched a single pitch in majors?
  10. In case anyone is wondering, Cards are shuffling their rotation due to off day today. Assuming Kyle Lohse goes to DL today here is the pitching probables. Friday - Carpenter Saturday - Ottavino/Mitchell Boggs/ OMG/LOL/ WTF. Sunday - Wainwright. Can anyone tell me the pitching probables for the Cubs this weekend ? Thanks in advance.
  11. Today we will surrender first place to Reds. *sigh*
  12. Well you beat the Magic in the Finals and lost to the Celtics the year before in the finals, so at first glane I'd say you would rather play Orlando. But the Celtics are 2 years older now, and you have a better team than 2 years ago. So I guess maybe Boston? Yeah, but the Lakers needed a missed Courtney Lee alley-oop in Game 2 and a Fisher three with five seconds left in Game 4 to go up 3-1. If either of those goes the other way, it's 2-2 and if both do it's 3-1 Orlando. So I think those two teams are pretty close. But Boston, as you said, beat LA two years ago and seems like a better defensive team that is more likely to give Kobe fits and force him into a couple of his wonderful 8-for-25 shooting nights. But then again, the Celtics are older as well than they were two years ago. We will have HFA if Boston advances.
