i wish we could trade soriano and zambrano for a time machine and then use that time machine to go back in time and kill theriot and fontenot's parents in a tragic gumbo "accident."

Damn that was an annoying game. Their weak hits early, then Z, our loud outs, the ump missing that call, the tight zone, Theriot/Fontenot/Soriano/Samardzija. At least Marshall and Russell pitched well, Aramis was squaring the ball up and Marlon made me like him right away.

I can't imagine what that game thread was like.

The team is still having trouble getting over what a clubhouse cancer Milton Bradley was. All Jeff Samardjzia could think of when he was serving up more meatballs that Maggianos on a Saturday night was Milton giving him Purple Nurples. Ryan Theriot couldnt get the image of Milton stuffing him in his locker as he was busy sucking.

Is it sad I wasn't surprised by anything? I actually called Heyward's homer and a couple of the other miscues. Typical.

Haha, same. I called Heyward's homer, and Z's overthrow tht led to a run and also Lee's overthrow. It's comical, really.

Marlon Byrd has the body of Daryl Ward. And he's our CF.

Not really.

But, Kirby Puckett had the body of Dennys Reyes and played CF.

Kirby at his fattest playing days didn't run with a plow hooked to his torso though!

Three goats:

1. Ryan Theriot - Responsible for 5 outs with the bat, and 2 free outs with the glove today. Not a great game.

2. Jeff Samardzija - Just goes to show the kind of day when you give up 6 runs in 1/3 of an inning and you were only the second worst pitching performance of the day. Just had nothing today from the outset. Or the last year or so.

3. Carlos Zambrano - Unlucky a bit in the first inning, somewhat the victim of bad D (some from himself, which should totally count as earned), but couldn't miss bats today outside of walks, and never could get it together.

Three silver linings:

3. Aramis Ramirez - 2 hits including a HR gives hope his shoulder isn't causing problems.

2. Marlon Byrd - A brief moment of excitement from his 3-run HR in the first, and the victim of possibly the cheapest DP we'll see this year.

1. Sean Marshall - When 2 of your teammates combine for 1.2 innings and 14 runs, going 2.2 innings, not allowing a baserunner, and collecting 5 Ks makes your performance look that much better in comparison. Unfortunate they couldn't use him for another couple innings, but they may need him later this week for a couple innings.

Yes. He quickly posted while the ball was in the air. You had to be there.

Actually, I wasn't either.

Never mind.

I'm really not mad. Disappointed and frustrated, but not mad.

It was just a [expletive] day, full of [expletive]. What can you do about most of what happened early? As bad as Z's line looks, he wasn't that bad. I didn't see the second half of the game, but the first half looked like mostly a bunch of [expletive] luck to me.

He was pretty bad. Poor control, a meatball served up to a 20 year old rookie, and a terrible throwing error.
