  1. Absolutely honored to be the game thread starter of Castro's debut. So...Starlin Castro. Tom Gorzelanny http://l.yimg.com/a/i/us/sp/v/mlb/players_l/20080319/7678.jpg 1-3, 2.48 ERA against Aaron Harang http://midwestswing.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/cuykcus21.jpg 1-4, 6.68 ERA Starlin Castro.
  2. So, not exactly what we were expecting. Or maybe it was, since after all, it is the normal Cobs that we are used to. You would think we should be able to rebound against the Reds, but who knows at this point. It seems like we're hovering around .500, just like last year. Hopefully, this team can find some kind of rhythm against a team with not-so-great pitching. So, we bring the ERA leader of all fat men in the MLB: Carlos Silva http://www.krugerquarterhorses.com/MNT%20Nan%20Carlos.jpg 2-0, 2.90 ERA against Homer Bailey http://thenastyboys.files.wordpress.com/2007/06/homer-bailey.jpg 0-1, 6.04 ERA Win this, and maybe get the "Cobs" tag removed.
  3. I really really dislike this baseball team.
  4. Miracle that Riot actually got away with that one.
  5. Haha, same. I called Heyward's homer, and Z's overthrow tht led to a run and also Lee's overthrow. It's comical, really.
  6. Haha, gotta get those 8 am classes like I have. Not really though, even though I'll be done at 3:30 Eastern, right in time for the game :D) I've missed baseball (and you guys) so much, I can't contain the excitement right now, let's do this.
  7. Sorry for the lack of game thread-posting, but I'll try to keep up that good luck that started on Wednesday. WGN finally, and looks like we have some of that momentum I was talking about from the game on Wednesday, and maybe we can actually sustain some offense. For this great holiday, we have: Braden Looper (minus the pixie dust PLEASE!) http://www.homeruncards.com/imagesrc/braden-looper-bow.jpg 6-4, 4.90 ERA Against our Rich Harden http://photos.upi.com/Sports/d35d442d6071f045f8fe496d327a4731/Milwaukee-Brewers-vs-Chicago-Cubs.jpg 5-4, 4.57 ERA Let's keep it going! Go CUBS!!!
  8. Sorry about the lack of game thread posting, I haven't been home at all the last two days. I will be there for tomorrow's game though.
  9. Hopefully I can start something up. Let's try to go out and actually put a number over 0 on the scoreboard, and maybe, just maybe, end up with a W. If we don't beat this bum, I'm not sure that we can go much lower. Today we have: The pink backpack-wearing Randy Wells http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3072/3030589172_a7c0eae6ae.jpg 2-3, 2.57 ERA, 1.09 WHIP Against this stud named Virgil Vasquez http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1218/1466547484_793ea9f9e6.jpg?v=0 1-0, 3.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP If we can manage to take this series, a thing called momentum may actually kick in, which we need with the Brewers coming to town this weekend. RUNS PLEASE. Go Cubs!
