Not that its surprising but Kramer went against the final play. The ball was supposed to go to Moore for the final shot.

That rat bastard. Clearly Matt Painter should surrender the victory as a sign of protest.

Oh by the way Andy in case you didn't know 3/11 > 2/16

there should be a thread to talk about the actual games and a thread for people to talk about omg i've got 9 of the sweet 16 still alive in my bracket that is for no money and that no one cares about.

Which thread is for woofing about "calling" an upset between two teams you'd never seen play and couldn't name a player from?

with the number of sites being cut in half, is Gus even on one of the teams?

This was on the last page:

Next weekend's NCAA announcers: Nantz/Kellogg in Houston, Enberg/Bilas in Syracuse, Lunquist/Raftery in St. Louis, Johnson/Elmore in Salt Lake

So he'll get Syracuse vs. Butler in the first game on Thursday evening and then Xavier vs. Kansas State. I assume he'll get the winners of those games on Saturday.

The NCAA needs to structure the tournament in a way where Gus gets all of the games.

I would strongly approve of this. Gus calling the UNI/Kansas game would be truly amazing.

It was a couple years ago, I think, where Bill Simmons suggested in a column that Gus not actually be at any of the games but be in a studio and whenever a game went down to the wire, they let Gus call the last couple minutes rather than the normal announcers.

Might as well. There isn't a great environment at the early round games, anyways. Some empty seats and lots of indifferent fans of other teams.

I actually like Raftery better than Gus. I know they perform different roles, but overall I prefer Raftery. One of Gus and Raftery should be doing every game this weekend. They can fly back and forth between the cities.

I would like to know how many of these "experts" who are now saying N. Iowa's win "wasn't a big surprise" actually picked them over Kansas.

Come on. You picked Kansas and your bracket is now a catastrophe like everyone else. Enough of the "I'm in the know and you aren't" BS.

Gus and Raftery together . . .

Hearing him call the Michigan St/Maryland game yesterday would have been epic.

I missed the game, but after seeing the highlights, I agree 100%.

espn keeps saying UNI is the first from MVC to make Sweet 16 since larry bird. that cant be right, right?

Southern Illinois made the Sweet 16 in 2007.

I was on a treadmill at the Y yesterday afternoon and had on a heart rate monitor. The Mizzou-WVU game was on and they switched to MSU-Maryland for the last minute and when Lucious hit that shot, my heart rate jumped from 138 to 154 in like 2 seconds. I couldn't believe they just went without calling a TO.

Pretty sure both teams were out of timeouts by that point, which made the ending that much better. No NBA ending with 7 timeouts called in the last minute.

Bradley in 2006.

They keep saying MVC champion, I think that's the rub.

Ah, so they are trying to stretch to find some amazing fact and acting like no MVC has made it.

Pretty much, even then are we sure that they are right on those stats? Seems like SIU won the MVC when they went that far.
