Big East basketball's official Twitter account just posted that WVU's win tonight gave the Big East an Elite Eight team every year since 2002, the longest streak of any conference.

I only post that because that might be the all-time 'attempted spinning crap into gold' post in Twitter history.

Hubert Davis usually says nothing of any interest but his laugh gets me every time. Overall the biggest strength of ESPN is their college basketball crew.

Last year Hubert Davis said the Big Ten wouldn't win a single game in the NCAAs. This was after MSU was revealed as a 2 seed.

Oh he's bad, I won't argue that. I don't like him but I do love his laugh.

Gottlieb can be a douche but I love him as long as he isn't talking about baseball. The best sports talk radio I've ever heard was when I had a drive back from Chicago before the Big Ten Championship that Iowa won in '06. It was him, Katz and Tom Brennan talking about various jobs and coaches for like 3 hours on a Saturday morning. Brennan was standing up for all coaches, Gottlieb was just being brutally honest about which jobs and coaches absolutely sucked and Katz started out diplomatic but then started dishing inside stuff like Gottlieb.

I wish Purdue could afford to pay guys like Wall and Cousins.

Ha. I wish Notre Dame had standards flexible enough to get guys like E'Twaun Moore, JaJuan Johnson and Robbie Hummel in (note: I have no idea if any of those guys are good students, so if they are just disregard). All a matter of perspective, I guess.

And here's why I generally don't enjoy college basketball. 16 points in a HALF? Are you kidding me?

That said, it's fun to watch John Wall.

Eh, Purdue has to turn down recruits due to academics too. Obviously not to the same extent as ND. Kentucky (basketball) is just everything that's wrong with college sports.

I like the halftime speech. I know I'm supposed to hate K-State, but I just don't. Frank Martin is awesome.

I think I have to at least kind of like someone who is a total [expletive] but gets his players to like him. The one thing you can say about him is that he's not phony which is the case with most high-level college basketball coaches. He has a shady background and he's a total prick. Investigate him but at least he doesn't pretend to be someone else.

how are your bracket managers handling vacated wins? should they keep the records for a few years?

no kidding, i should have withheld my monies until some kentucky booster is found to have paid john wall a quarter mil and then ask the administrators to re-evaluate the tourney results.

I wouldn't want one and done guys. I just don't agree with that crap. Either make them go for multiple seasons like the NFL or nothing. The current way is a joke and I wouldn't want to be one of the schools that support it.

I like the same things about him. He seems very straight forward and blunt, which is what I think a coach should be.

Yeah, obviously I didn't mean Purdue is a Kentucky. It's all a matter of degree.

I really wish they'd go to the baseball rule of go to the pros right away or wait three years. I have no idea what's stopping them.

I agree the NBA rule is stupid. They should let the guys go pro immediately if teams will draft them.

It's not like it's the NCAA's rule. If the one and done goes to class for the one year he's there, what do you care?

it's so much better watching gus johnson do a competitive game than dick enberg bumble his way through a bad one.

Is that John Wall? It looks like John Wall. It's probably him.

Is there any chance at all Frank Martin uses words like "SELFISH AND SILLY" when away from CBS's microphones?

"And it's... well... what's the call here?" (everyone in america yelling at their television - IT'S GOALTENDING)

"And that's going to go against Wall....or is it? (long pause) Yes...it's his third."

I sat next to him at the MVC Tournament the day before he did the game on CBS and the guy definitely prepares for games. He's just getting up there in years. Matter of fact, he's been getting up there in years for the last eight or nine years now.
