Iowa was like top 30 in the country in 3 point defense coming into the game at 29%. The defense wasn't good but 13-17? Come on they don't make that in shootaround. Seriously if they shoot just 50% from 3 that's a last second kind of game.

Other than that I thought your offense moved the ball a lot better than you guys said but defense seemed softer than Illinois typically is. McCamey is a stud, Richardson is really good and Richmond is a clown.

ND with an awesome win over Georgetown. I love watching the Irish play defense. The transformation of this team has been unreal. I wish Brey didn't essentially play 6.5 guys - Jack Cooley's 7 or so minutes a game don't even really count - but the guys never seem to wear down.

If they can split the Syracuse and UConn games to finish this ridiculous conference-opening stretch, ND will be in really good shape.

Richmond is gonna be a load next year. He's already darn good now when he plays to his strengths.

Richmond is a clown.

Didn't like the clapping after every foul?

Perhaps, that is some sort of an anger management mechanism because if a foul occurred when he blocked May' shot on his drive to the hoop. Then May sure as [expletive] commited a foul in pushing Richmond out of the way when they were going for that loose ball.

The flagrant was worse.

Speaking of clowns, it was nice to see Ed Hightower last night.

His face is starting to look like it's going to swallow itself.

You should see his wife.

Didn't like the clapping while he was playing on-ball defense. The last time I saw that it was in Cameron indoor. Arguing the intentional foul after he wrapped up May from behind (at least that's what it looked like live from behind the play, haven't seen a replay of it) was just dumb. The guy is versatile though, he's gonna be a matchup nightmare.

I was a little disappointed to hear Gus went to BWW the night before the game. Who goes on the road and eats at places like that? You're better than that, Gus.

Remember, he has the endorsement deal with them and does their commercials.

Thanks for the Wig and Pen recommendation. The pizza was better than anything I can get in STL.

If any hawkeye fans where in section L, I'd like to apologize for the idiot Illinois fans in row 33. Me and my brother were close to turning around and punching them, but they were old and we didn't want to end up on youtube. Every turnover, foul, or missed jumper was Tisdale's fault, and the rest of the team is a bunch of idiots for not giving the ball to Cole more.

It doesn't mean he has to eat there. I hope he was lying to get paid. That I can respect.

Yeah I don't like the clapping while guarding a guy, it accomplishes nothing. No player of importance is going to be affected by it.

The intentional foul on replay, was pretty clearly not. He was obviously attempting to foul the guy, but the way he did is never called intentional, he was making a play on the ball, just from over the top.

The clapping after every foul on him seems to be his defense mechanism to stop himself from bitching. He'll do it on calls where he'll tell the ref he's right, and when he wants to argue.

Him and Tom Crean should have a clapping contest. :good:

Don't do that to me.

I guess if you want to go strictly by the definition of the rule, it was an intentional foul, but I was shocked they called it. I was even more shocked that 2 of the refs called it. It was really no different than most of the fouls committed by losing teams in the last minute of a game.

I saw the logic behind the call, and I'm not sure if I agree with it or not. The Iowa player definitely had nothing but open floor in front of him, and it appeared Richmond just was slapping him on the back to get the call. With both refs trailing the play I'm pretty sure this is exactly what they saw.

As for the "moving screen" foul on Tisdale, that was easily the worst call of the evening.
