Why the [expletive] are Purdue and Michigan playing an early afternoon game tomorrow? I went to set the game up to record, assuming it would be at 6 or so, and it's at 1...

Penn State isn't awful. They're probably about as good as Colorado.

I have no earthly idea why with Rivers and Hulls on the court that Verdell Jones is running the point. It'd be bad enough in the middle of the game, but at crunch time, you just know Jones is going to drive and take a terrible shot.

Stop trying to make me feel better. [-( lol

Well then who are we going to beat in the Big Ten then?

Rivers is actually worse at handling the ball, at least he was last year. There's no reason for Jones to have the ball over Hulls though. Jones is averaging 4 turnovers per game this year. 3.4 assists.

I'd like to believe that but they did kind of spank the same Northern Iowa team that IU could not handle in Vegas.

Rivers has been a totally different player this season so it isn't fair to throw around last season's stats. But he still has the same limitation of not being able to shoot a jumper so that still handicaps him.

They very likely will at least once but I think Iowa is better than Indiana. I think all 3 of those teams will grab 4 Big Ten wins or more. Who knows what the deal is with Michigan.

Been a different player because he isn't running the point though. And he isn't running the point, because he sucked at it.

Rivers' assist rate is 12.0 and his turnover rate is 38.2. I don't think I would want him handling the ball much. That turnover rate is something you see out of freshman big men.

So NIU doesn't have a very good hoops team.

Silas is pretty good, but the rest of the team could probably be beaten down by an average YMCA team.

Yeah, he is solid. They don't do a very good job of ball handling, which definitely spells doom against Mizzou.

Now we can all fully turn our attention to the showdown in Iowa City on Wednesday. Pomeroy sees a 66-64 Illinois win. Iowa has a 39% chance to win but that's before factoring in Gus Johnson's presence and the boost he gives to the underdog and home team.

How many more years does Crean get before Indiana flips a call down South to New Mexico?

That would be outstanding

I think I'd become an Illini fan before I would accept that douchebag as the coach of Indiana. And yes that makes me feel very dirty to say.

I didn't realize we sucked that bad. That prediction is sobering.

Eh, not really. Pomeroy has us as #24, Iowa at #73.
