Wisconsin only turned the ball over three times and still lost. Had they gone inside consistently I think they would have faired a lot better today. Demetri is miles beyond Taylor right now, but I was impressed by what I saw. Go Illini!

Bill Cole has been playing the best basketball of his life. He's gotten a lot of crap from me for not being Robbie Hummel, but he is probably my favorite senior right now.

You know DMac is a senior, right?

I'm aware. I just expected this level of play out of Demetri.

I am enjoying the crap out of him, I really hope he gets a better shake than Frankie did in the League.

Really good win by Illini today, as the only thing that kept it close was the turnover differential. Great job by McCamey of getting to the line, and good job on Leuer, who had his worst game of the year offensively.

If McCamey doesn't get fat, he'll get his shot and then some.

iowa state started the season with 9 players (8 on scholarship). one quit, one got suspended for a suspected DUI and one of the starters is hurt. so what do you do when you're left with 6 players (5 on scholarship)? why just grab a couple guys off the football team and throw them on the team.

31. Pac-10 (Washington 91.2%)

30. WAC (Utah State 90.5%)

29. Atlantic Sun (Belmont 90.2%)

Or hold open practices for students. Duke did it when they needed a kicker.

I'd definitely take the field in the Pac-10 and Big 10, maybe the Big 12 too.

On bodog, Ohio State was something like 9/2 to win the Big Ten before the season started.

Yeah, a combination of them playing like world beaters in every game plus a favorable Big Ten schedule (only one of the 5 good teams that doesn't play a road game against one of the others, with no game @MSU) bumps the odds well in their favor. The other boost comes from the fact there are only five real quality Big Ten teams (NU is the 6th at 47 on Pomeroy. Minny is 60).

The Big East is crazy this year because there are 11 teams in the KenPom top 40, and all could reasonably finish at least .500 in conference and make the tourney (because the other 5 are TERRIBLE).

I'd definitely take the field in Big 10 and Big 12. I'd have to think about the Pac 10. Although Washington might be the only team that isn't terrible. They are so bad.

Washington has the Pac-10 in the bag already. There are 5 teams in the Pac-10 better than, say, Indiana, and Washington has already beaten two of them on the road. Coupled with Arizona's loss to an awful Oregon State team and Wazzu being swept in SoCal, Washington is a shoe-in.

I'd probably take Ohio State over the field in the Big Ten just because of their huge scheduling advantage. Even if you consider OSU even with Purdue/MSU/Illinois/Wisconsin, they get a leg up with the scheduling.

Why does Stephen Bardo have a job? He's awful. His list of three "underrated, under the radar" Big Ten players started with E'Twaun Moore and ended with Jordan Taylor.

What the [expletive] is he talking about?
