Interesting note they showed a few times in the game - CJ is the only running back of the six who have rushed for 2,000 yards to do it for a non-playoff team. That's crazy.

The Panthers are the only team in the history of the league to have two 1,100-yard rushers this year and also went 8-8, so I guess you and I are kindred spirits in the 'insane rushing numbers with little to show for it' regard.

The Raiders have now lost 11+ games in seven straight seasons and they're now 29-83 since going to the Super Bowl in 2002. They've got a ways to go to get the record for most straight seasons with 10+ losses as the Bucs did so in 12 straight from 1983-94. The Lions have had 8 of 9 seasons with 10+ losses with only a 7-9 2007 season snapping that streak.

On a related note, the Rams went 3-13 in 2007, 2-14 in 2008 and 1-15 this year so they should be good for 0-16 next year.

Ndamukong Suh by himself should win them two games. :)

True, but Woodson is no slouch in coverage and he plays the run better then I've ever seen a corner play the run (granted I don't pay too much attention to the corner on run plays). I don't see how you can call Revis the hands down best in the league though. Especially when Woodson is right there as well.

Woodson only has 2 more INT's than Revis but only half the PD's. Revis has also performed at his best against the leagues best WR's which is a big difference maker in terms of the best CB in my opinion.

Woodson has 9, Revis has 6. So Woodson has 33% more INT's. Which is alot

Woodson also has 3 TD's this year, 20 more tackles and a couple more sacks. They also use Woodson all over the field (slot, saftey, all over the place).

However with that being said, I would probably take Revis over Woodson. However, Woodson I belive had a better year.

Yes, though I, as I'm sure you would as well, would agree to trade the rushing record for a playoff spot, though. :)

That's just more reason, to me, why it's silly to evaluate a football player on how many winning seasons or super bowl rings he has. CJ, Stewart and Williams are now worse because their teams were bad. It's generally only QBs who get this stigma attached to them (i.e. Brady is better than Peyton because Brady has 4 rings and Peyton has 1), but I occassionally hear it with other players as well. It's silly.

Nice win for the Titans today to get to 8-8 and avoid a losing record.

The Titans and Broncos both finished 8-8 but boy did they take different paths to get there.

It would have been interesting to have seen how the Panthers would have done if Fox had realized sooner that Delhomme sucks.

Apparently you've never seen Antoine Winfield.

Yeah, Titans fans feel a lot more optimistic about their team than Bronco fans do, even though both teams finished with identical records.

It likely has to do with the Titans finishing the year 8-2 and the Broncos finishing the season 2-8.

I know it was a meaningless game for the Bengals (vs. the Jets) but, I'm beginning to wonder if the massacre of the Bears was the high point of their season.

I know he's Tom Brady and all, but he even gets a ring for losing in the Super Bowl?

Probably still can't believe the Giants won. I know I can't.

Vikings players don't count.

So the same player (Bernard Pollard)who landed on Brady when he blewout his knee landed on Welker yesterday.

Really? That's awesome. He should get the key to every other city.

Well, Welker's knee blew out on it's own when trying to make a cut...Pollard was just the guy to fall on him for the tackle afterwards apparently. Still, that's not going to be the way it's going to be talked about.

This should maybe get its own thread, but we may get to see Chris Johnson vs. Usain Bolt in a charity race. Not sure why outside of being for charity.

I would love to see that. I think Bolt would win, but CJ could give him a fight.

I doubt that will be close unless it's done in pads, or they give Johnson a head start.

The competition is not as one-sided as you'd think. Our buddies at NBC Olympics broke down Bolt's world record 100 meter time from Beijing games, and Bolt's 40 meter split was actually a hair slower than Johnson's 40 time at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Then again, Bolt is well known as a slow starter. He would destroy Johnson at any distance longer than 50 meters or so.

Johnson knows this, and wants the race at 60 meters or less. Bolt would like it longer.

Yeah, I can definitely see where the longer distance would favor Bolt signicantly. After CJ's long run of 91 yards, he collapsed exhausted in the end zone and ended up puking.

Using interception totals to compare CBs is like using batting average to compare baseball players. I don't think there are many people here who wouldn't take Revis over Woodson.
