Brandon Jennings

I pretty much have ran out of words to say about the kid. I have mono right now and I fell asleep right before the game started and woke up with about 30 text messages about the game. Im so glad I ended up DVRing the game. It's the most exciting I can remember seeing the Bradley Center in a long ass time.

After his 55 point game his PPG is up to 25.6. Obviously he wont keep it that high all year, but he is turning into something special.

He went 7 for 8 on three's last night as well, bringing him to 17 for 30 on the year (56.7%). And the best part of all this is the Bucks are 5-2. Edventually this is gonna come crashing down in my face and everyone can laugh at me, but right now im enjoying every second of it.

i hope the thunder pick up iverson

i've heard from writers that have been cold-calling GMs and front office people asking whether there is any interest in Iverson and the results have been a resounding "no."

In fact, the only response that wasn't a no, was a "hahaha."

As it should be. I don't understand why a winning team would want to bring him into the mix. His only appeal is to sell tickets for a terrible team.

And I say this as someone who loved AI pretty much his whole career. Then he came to the Pistons...

sorry, i guess my sarcasm wasn't obvious enough. The last thing I would ever want would be for iverson to come here and destroy this young (maybe playoff) team

i loved iverson when he was in philly, but he has no ability to play second fiddle at all, and at this point in his career he doesn't have anywhere near enough left in the tank to be the top dog on an nba team. given that mix, he's basically done.

and being "done" is bad news for a guy who has no future in broadcasting, analysis, endorsements or coaching. Not sure what he's going to do for the rest of his life.

Pretty sure it won't involve practicing.

Too obvious?

It felt good to destroy the heat in there house, especially since wade was just screaming that it was his house a couple of nights ago. Good job against the thunder wade.

Durant's points in the last five games: 32, 40, 25, 30, 37. 33 ppg, shooting 50% and 90% from the line.

I think i will redo my previous post and take him over wade. Watching wade play tonight, he was easily defended by sefelosha and wasn't very impressive.

Wade is easily better than Durant. Durant's great but let's not draw sweeping conclusions from one game shall we?

KD is also an absolutely horrific defender too. Although from what I've seen of him so far this year he's gone from historically awful to merely terrible. He still needs a ton of work in that area.

what i was saying is i would rather have the 21 year old, 4 million dollar a year(yes, his salary will go up in two years) kevin durant over a 27 year old 15 million dollar a year wade. Even if you put wade over durant he's not that much better to where he makes up for being six years older and getting paid over 10 mil a year more. Just for refrence, when wade was 21 he was averaging 16 ppg, durant is averaging 28. also, it's not like durant is about to turn 22, he turned 21 about a month ago.

If someone was starting a team and was guaranteed to keep a player for the length of his career, all players played until they were 35, et al; Most people would take lebron then durant

Durant will be pulling in one of the highest salaries in the league as soon as his rookie deal is done. I see what you're saying about youth and potential and all of that and I don't necessarily disagree. I was just saying it's pretty silly to all of a sudden change your mind about Durant vs. Wade because Thabo stopped him in one game.

As for the who would you take to build a team around argument...I would dispute that. Durant would get some votes here and there but most would take Howard and Paul I think (after Lebron of course).

yeah, you're right about howard and paul. I didn't think about guys like them, i was just thinking scorers

On a side note about paul and the hornets, i'm so glad the nba didn't let us keep them now. Ever since they left okc they've been going downhill fast. It sucks to be a hornets fan right now. They look like they're going to miss the playoffs and i know that they won't ever trade paul because he is their franchise, but i don't see any reason for paul to stay when he becomes a free agent. Paul said he loved OKC while he was here, bring him in presti! Durant and Paul :beg: =P~ :yahoo: lol

I actually think Durant is now above average. There's a guy that charts defensive possessions, and Durant's been in the positives in almost every game this year.

Obviously it's just 12 games, but defensively, he's been 100 perecent better. I actually think that's why his shooting percentages are down, he's not used to expending this much energy on D.

The thunder are the fourth best defensive team in the league, if durant was really that bad we wouldn't be this good overall

Unless everyone else on his team is a really good defender, and his bad defense is covered up by being surrounded by really good defenders.

That is almost definitely wrong. He's not their franchise because they know he won't be staying. He's supposedly not very interested in talking extension. Last season just before the trade deadline the Hornets supposedly (according to a Rockets employee who posts anonymously on clutchfans.net) came close to trading Paul in a huge deal that included Landry/Brooks and some expiring contracts and draft picks. The guy said they decided not to right at the deadline because they 1) didn't want to trade in division 2) wanted to try and talk to Paul again.

With Scott fired and Paul pissed about it the Hornets know he is definitely gone so they mineaswell get something for him.
