Ron Artest admits to having drank at half time of NBA games (probably not the first or last guy to ever do it, but still). Real class act this guy.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4706474

If Artest was smart, he'd just write a tell-all book like Agassi did. I mean, he's obviously more than willing to tell people about the things he did, why not make money off of it? I'd absolutely read an Artest autobiography.

agreed. bottle up the crazy and then let it all pour out after you retire. he'd make a killing.

Rockets beat Thunder even with Scola getting hurt. Landry has 17 and 9 in the second half. We'll likely get to see what Landry can do for a handful of games as a starter. Scola may very well be losing his starter job permanently if Landry does well.

people think of landry as one of those ground-bound undersized guys who move people with their ass like barkley, but i was surprised by how athletic he was

He was a ground bound guy in college at Purdue. Just bullied his way in and had good post moves. He went to this place in Indy that a bunch of athletes have started going to. They specialize and increasing your flexibility and agility. He upped his vertical from 32 inches to 40 inches. He said he had never worked on anything other than bulk which is why he improved so much. So now he is a slimmed down quick 6'9" dude with a 40 inch vert.

That's cool, but he doesn't have a 40-inch vert. He has long arms and he's a quick jumper, though. He uses his body well, too. You're lucky to have such an awesome front office in houston.

I love me some Daryl. He has facebook and actually posts multiple times a day with observations and responds a to comments.

Funny thing to point out about the Nets futility. Not only did they start the season 0-18 and counting, but they also went 1-9 in the preseason. So if you include the preseason, they've gone 1-27 in the 28 games they've played this season. I'm starting to get scared that they'll get their first win against the Bulls next week.

Kobe's just too good. Good lord.

Fisher's shot a few seconds earlier was huge also but yeah, great shot by Kobe.

Odom got screwed over earlier in that thing. If you're going to eject him, then you have to eject O'Neal also. They should have received the same punishment.

EDIT: Nevermind. I guess it was a second technical for Odom, not a straight ejection.

That show was almost as crazy as the buzzer beaters he made against Portland a few years ago.

Greg Oden out for the year....again. Broke his knee cap (highlight I saw looked like someone hit his knee with a hammer)

It's a shame because he was really doing well and starting to hit the dominant area defenisvely.

Landry is averaging 20.8 pts and 7.6 rebounds in the last 5 games on a ridiculous 64% shooting. Also getting 1.6 blocks in that time and still not playing over 30 minutes.

Also, I just recently noticed how ridiculously good he has gotten at FT's. He shot in the 80's last year but this year he has raised it to almost 90%. He's at 88.5% after today's game which should put him in the top 10 and make him the only player in the NBA in the top 10 for both FG and FT percentage.

The Pistons have been entertaining the last week and a half. Playing pretty well despite not having Gordon, Rip or Prince and having Villanueva and banged up. Stuckey has been averaging 25 points, 6 assists on 54% from the field in the last 5 games. Jonas Jerbeko is becoming my new favorite player. Kuester is an enormous upgrade over Curry.

So Daryl Morey just enlightened me that Scola is the leagues leader in defensive rebounding. Now before you go look up the raw stats take into account this is Morey. He would never look at the raw number. Scola leads in defensive rebounding based on his rate of getting the rebound compared to number of chances while he is in the game. Essentially per missed shot by your opponent Scola has the highest percentage of getting the rebound. Surprising to say the least.

LOL, yeah odd collection I know. Hawkeyes and Vikings were a result of geography and family influence. Growing up with the Cubs on WGN almost everyday in the 80s was what led me to them. Older brother loved the Bad Boy Pistons and it stuck.

Im not a kobe fan, but damnit he is so good. turn around fade away jumper at the buzzer to knock off the Bucks in OT.

Did you watch the game? If so, what did you think of the block they called on Bogut (I believe) towards the end of overtime that allowed the Lakers to cut it to one?

I only saw it on SC and got one look and they said that it easily could have been called a travel on Kobe or a charge but I couldn't really tell from what they showed.

I didn't wanna mention it because everyone would of assumed I would be whining about it.

I really think it was a charge. Bogut had position, feet were set and Kobe ran him over. If you watched it live, the refs blew the whistle and waited a good 7-10 seconds before even meeting up about the call, it was like they all waited for someone to step up and call the charge because it was Kobe. If that wasn't Kobe (or LeBron) I belive 99 outta 100 times that would of been a charge.

However, we still blew a 6 point lead with 1:20 left so I suppose the Bucks are the reason why they. But that was a charge.
