Can anyone confirm this, my brother told me that on Comcast Sportnet, they mentioned Fox might be traded for a reliever? Are you kidding me if this is true? I also heard Jay Jackson might be moved for a reliever. If Hendry overpays for garbage like Grabow, i'm going to be greatly dissapointed. Jake Fox isn't a stud prospect but man he's worth more than that garbage.

Depends on what you want confirmed. Did some talking head on some sport show say, "we might trade Fox for a reliever" - probably. Is there any chance of us trading Fox for Grabow straight up? No, Hendry isn't exactly golden when it comes to free agents, but he is fairly good when it comes to making trades...

Somebody on comcast suggested they should trade Fox for a reliever. I heard that in the two minutes I foolishly listened to the Score yesterday as well.

Seriously, if theres any talk of Fox and Jay Jackson for Grabow and another reliever, we need to keep posting about it and hope it destroys the deal as it supposedly did with the Peavy deal.

There is no talk of it

Honestly, I'm hoping there are no moves made by Hendry. He's going to overpay for some crappy reliever, I just know it.

2:56pm: Dejan Kovacevic of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the Cubs and Pirates are discussing a deal that would send Grabow and Tom Gorzelanny to Chicago. No deal is in place and other teams remain interested in Grabow.

The morons going to send Jackson and Fox to the Pirates for these 2 pieces of crap, isnt he?

No.

Gorzelanny is like Marshall but not as good. Why would we need him? Is Lilly going to be out longer than expected? Even if this were so, getting Grabow allows Marshall to go back to the rotation. Way to go Hendry. Either trade for a bat or don't trade at all. ](*,)

MLB's worst GM. No one else is even close.

well, besides the 20 or so who are worse. But if you discount those, maybe the worst, yes

I just seen Gorzelannys numbers vs leftys the last 3 years and damn they are impressive. .234 .300.357 .657 in 250 at bats hes only allowed 5 HRs to leftys. Thats not bad if he could get back to that

Wait, Tom Gorzelanny?

The only possible reasoning I can see is if he's bringing him to be a LOOGY, Grabow as an additional lefty to face either and putting Marshall in the rotation because he's trading Hart or Wells (doubtful) for Teahen or Hermida.

Goony mentioned earlier in the thread that the Fox for a reliever rumor was brought up by a caller.

Ugh. Len just mentioned during the broadcast that the Cubs "are closing in on a deal for Grabow."

If we are going to give up Jackson I would hope we could at least get Duke or Maholm. I still don't want to get rid of him and the only thing I would really want to trade him for would be in a package for a Peavy/Halladay level pitcher.

This trade is going to be historically bad.

It's going to make us pine for the days of Ed Lynch.

I think it's a little over the top to say the trade will be "historically" bad if it's just for Grabow, I doubt we have to give up Jackson/Carpenter level pitching prospect.
