Meh. I don't have any problem with him smoking a little grass now and again. Not like he's the only person in the world doing it.

Well it is illegal, so I'm not too happy about it. And it was in the middle of the WBC when he should be getting ready for the season. It's not like it was in November or something. Just shows poor judgment from one of the young (supposed) superstars of this franchise.

Well, it's highly possible that Soto had not actually used marijuana for a month before the test. Especially as, um, portly as he came into camp. Pot mainly stores in fat cells.

The real joke here is that his smoking pot is even an issue. Or illegal.

Its hard telling when Geo smoked it for one, and for 2, where does Geo spend his offseason? It could be legal there. Lastly, who cares.

For some reason that made me think of the scene in A Christmas Story where Ralphie won't tell his mom that he learned curse words from his father.

Yeah. Why would we be upset that he was smoking weed and devouring cases of Cheetos instead of preparing for the season? He's playing just fine, right?

Oh, and if we were to find out that Geo hit so well last year because he smoked pot after games...I'll chip in on the first bag to get him going this year. Who's with me? :-))

EDIT: Oh, and after this bleeping game we could all probably use a doob...

He's actually playing very well lately.

You really think pot = baseball decline?

Everyone's been crying about how fat he is this year, right? It's not a stretch to think that his weight issues could be related to smoking weed.

Sigh. I wish everyone's knowledge on this subject didn't primarily come from the films Half Baked and Pineapple Express.

It's highly, highly unlikely that Soto's off season weight gain was just from smoking pot. More likely reduced workouts and consistent home cooking.

I can get as moralistic and outraged as anyone, but this just doesn't bother me. Athletes smoke pot. If it bothers you to root for people who do things you consider bad (and most people don't even consider pot bad), don't watch sports.

Because he was high and didn't want to leave the house.

Actually smoking pot will decrease overall performance in sports because it has the same effect of a sigarette but only stronger. This will cause him to lose his breath faster.

it's baseball and he's a catcher, how frequently is he going to run enough to lose his breath?
