LSJ.com[/url]"]From his NFL background with the Pittsburgh Steelers, former MSU coach George Perles says the Detroit Lions would be wise to choose Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, if he's available, in April's NFL Draft with the first pick. Perles believes Tebow has too many intangible qualities that the Lions completely lack.

Tough break for the Bears, Packers and Vikings. Tebow is returning for his senior year.

Tough break for the Saskatchewan Roughriders too.

tim tebow said something about his coming back being due to loyalty and wanting to win another championship. i'm guessing it had more to do with wanting to put off for another year not hearing his name on the first day of the draft.

Ok, I said it last year and they didn't listen to me and it's turned out pretty well, but this time we REALLY need a freaking quarterback.

Are you worried that picking a QB high in the draft could look like a 1-game overreaction to an otherwise solid year from Delhomme? Granted the Panthers should have been looking at a QB this year anyway, but thanks to a 6 turnover playoff showing, draft a QB in the first 2 rounds and the pressure will be there from minicamp for Carolina to make a change. Could really screw up a team that I think has one of the brightest futures in the league.

Delhomme's contract is up, and I'm guessing his demands would be more (years) than Carolina should even remotely consider giving him. This is their fault for not getting one last year to groom under Jake, anyway. Unless they really think Matt Moore is the guy in waiting, which would also be dumb.

so yeah having a rookie qb drafted either late in the first or second round starting from the beginning of the year....that's going to go over well with your veteran team. betcha delhomme is back or they grab a veteran to start while the rookie sits on the bench to start the year. Bingo. One last year of being "the man" before reality hits. And maybe a bit of delusion that somehow he will be perceived as a legit NFL QB a year from now.

I'm glad he's coming back. My team is building up a very big, very fast, very smart defense, and now a very versatile defense, that winning another championship for Florida is no guarantee. If I had some, I would put money on LSU/Alabama ending Tebow's dream of another championship in the SEC Championship.

Well thank goodness Tebow isn't coming out. I didn't want Angelo to be tempted with another Florida QB. Wuerffel, Grossman...can we be done there?

It might have already been said...but the Chargers loss ensures the Bears are getting the 18th pick.

don't forget he signed Chris Leak in 2007 before cutting him

BTW, Leak should call Tebow to mentor him in the ways of the CFL

SEC quarterbacks make more money than 5th round practice squad guys.

Why did you quote this post? It has absolutely nothing to do with what you said...

There were posts about Tebow returning all around the post he quoted. I'd say he just hit the "quote" on the wrong post.

That's pretty huge.

Great news for OU, though.

Yeah, he was probably a top 15 pick.

Unless I'm way off here, I think Thursday is the deadline to declare.

I could be way off, though.
