Not sure if someone already posted this but...

No more than a couple hours after Al Harrington demanded a trade out of Golden State, the Bulls and Warriors had discussions about a trade that would send him to Chicago. The Bulls likely would send one of their many guards to the Warriors. Many scenarios have been thrown out, but apparently the Warriors are most interested in Kirk Hinrich and Thabo Sefolosha.

Yes, please.

Hinrich for Al Harrington works perfectly.

OR

Thabo and Drew Gooden for Harrington.

Both trades works perfectly on both realgm's trade checker and espn's trade machine.

Problem is, it still doesn't address the Bulls need for an inside presence. The only upside in this deal for the Bulls would be to get out from underneath Hinrich's contract. (in one of the trade prosposals that would work for both teams)

I don't know much about Harrington, but is he more of a jump-shooting big man? Can he not post up?

He can post up better than Hinrich.

Hinrich makes perfect sense at Golden State. I think he'd fit in well there.

This trade makes so much sense on so many levels. If we could rid ourselves of either Hinrich or Thabo and add someone like Harrington, I think that really makes ourselves a legitimate playoff team.

I don't see what Al Harrington accomplishes for this team. Even if get rid of our glut in the backcourt we create another one by adding another tweener forward to the mix.

Harrington is a gunner, contributes nothing defensively, and has no real position outside of the Nellie-ball system. 5.0 3P attempts a game!

Good call on Rose, UM. I was actually thinking about your prediction when I saw his line.

Either way, a solid debut game from Rose, but he didn't look to score as much as I expected him to after the last few preseason games.

Kirk had nice game today, though I noticed the early game haters didn't acknowledge it. People forget he had a few decent years in the league before last year's clunker. He could still add some value, though the Bulls shouldn't hesitate to get out of his contract if they can.

I had to go to work at halftime. Up until that point though he was pretty bad.

Agreed. He's 6'9" and shot 408 threes last year. In comparison, he only had 439 rebounds. I'd rather get Zach Randolph.

Rose looked real good to me. I know the numbers were amazing, but it was his first game and it was the little things he did that caught my eye

No, but I liked his moves to the basket. Kid can slash.

A couple of his steals were excellent too. I like the way he was beating himself up over the 4 turnovers too. He's a perfectionist. That tells me he's going to put in the work.

I think the low rebounds have to do with the system he is in, but I could be wrong. Admittedly, he's never been a big rebounder.

Kemp would be proud.

A judge has dismissed former NBA player Jason Caffey's bankruptcy case, clearing the way for several women to sue him for thousands of dollars in child support.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Margaret A. Mahoney dismissed the bankruptcy case Tuesday — which means the mothers of his children can sue for child-support payments. Caffey has 10 children with eight women.

His kids avg. is higher than his career scoring avg. (scoring in basketball terms only)

As both a Bull fan and Crimson Tide fan I am embarrassed about Jason Caffey. Stupid Krause, want this bum over Michael Finleyy. But hey, at least one of Shawn Kemp's "known kids" is going to Bama.

You do realize last yr was a fluke for Harrington in terms of shooting threes? Because the next highest amont of threes he's attempted in his career was 293 (a hundred a fifteen difference). Such a high numbers of three attempted by Harringto was a product of playing for Don Nelson.

Randolph has a career numbers of 16.2 ppg and 8

Harrington has a career numers of 13 and 5.

On paper Randolph would be a better player, but I prefer Harrington because his contract comes off the books a yr earlier. Not to mention if you add Harrington to the team, *you would have both Hughes and Harrington coming off the books together after 2009-2010 (a yr after Gooden/Gordon after this yr). So if the Bulls (aka Paxson) is smart, in a matter of 2 yrs, the Bulls could have $36 or so million* coming off their books. In two yrs the Bulls would have Harrington/Hughes/Gordon and Gooden (and perhaps more if the Bulls can move Nocioni) off their books (sign decent 1 yr stop gaps) and by the end of the 2009-2010 season they could legitimately have a shot at any FA of that class that could potentially include James/Wade/Nowitzki/Bosh/Amre/Boozer/Okur. (I said potentially) Hopefully by then Derrek Rose is a legit superstar PG, Thomas is a formiable force at PF, and Deng develops into a strong #2 scorer. Which means the Bulls would be a interested destination for FA's in two yrs. So give me the cheaper contractual player in Harrington, who may be the inferior player over Randolph.

**All of this is based on their current salary.

Isn't Harrington just another midline talent who isn't going to take us where we want to go?

There are trades to bring in talent, then they are trades you make to bring in expiring contracts. Harrington only value to the Bulls would be his contract comes off the books after the 2009-10 season, along with Hughes, and that FA class is going to be a monster class. Players like Wade/James/Bosh/Amare/Nowitzki could all in theory be available. So the Bulls should try to get some expiring contracts (hold onto Gooden, unless you get a player who'c contract comes off the book after 2009-10 season. Hence the reason why I am pushing for the Harrington deal. Like Jalen Rose of a couple of yrs, he marginally improves the team short-term, but his contract is what the Bulls should be interested in.

If it nets us one of those guys I guess I wouldn't argue :)

Excellent points here. I really like the idea of Rose, Thomas, Deng and a star FA in a couple of years.

Yea, the plus of a trade for Harrington is he expires in '10. Amare or Bosh please...

I'll take Lebron :)

Obviously, I'd take one of the top two players in the league on my team any day, but he's not exactly an ideal type of player to pair with Rose. He'd probably opt to play somewhere where he'd get to dominate the ball. Wade's skills are sort of redundant with Rose. I don't see Wade leaving, anyway, though. LeBron just might, and with the Nets future (as far as their move to Brooklyn and all that) now looking uncertain, a move to the Nets might not be as automatic as it once seemed. So who knows where he winds up?

I'd be ecstatic if we got either of those guys but I feel like Amare or Bosh would be the ideal type of players to take this team to the next level.
