as far as westbrook, i already love him. he's so athletic and he plays so hard.

I remember watching that game last year. I screamed so loud at that dunk. The thing that gets me is that he dunks the ball at full speed. When most people dunk, they slow down and take the 2 big steps to set up the dunk. Westbrook looked like he was running the 40-yard dash and the finish line was 10ft in the air.

he had one this preseason that was just hilarious.

 

he snuck in under the basket, casually caught a lob off a 2-footed jump and softly dunked it in 2-handed. it happened so quick that the post guy turned around and gave him a look like "you've got to be kidding me"

A Bulls player has told Comcast SportsNite that Thabo and Rose will be the starting backcourt tomorrow night.

 

So I'm guessing that =

 

C - Gooden

PF - TT

SF - Deng

SG - Thabo

PG - Rose

 

 

I'm guessing that they've figured out that Hinrich isn't a fit at the 2 and I think they'll eventually start Gordon once he gets his feet wet. Or maybe they'll just start Thabo until Hughes is ready, which, unfortunately, isn't looking far away at all anymore.

 

A potential surprise in there would be Gray at C and Gooden at PF, but I don't see it happening.

Rod Wilmont was out of his league. I will long for the days of a 2nd round NCAA team at Indiana for the foreseeable future.

I would actually prefer Gray and Gooden starting as the bigs. Get some low post scoring potential in the game early, hopefully allowing for an inside out game and helping to open up the shooters as the game goes on. It would also serve the purpose of keeping Tyrus out of early foul trouble. The Bulls could completely change the pace of the game, coming off the bench w/ TT, Gordon and Noah.

I can't wait for the regular season to get started and see Rose in action for real! Too bad I had to get rid of my tickets for the game, though (thanks UMFan for taking them off my hands). At least I should be able to catch about half the game.

Rose, Thabo, Deng, Tyrus, Gooden is officially tonight's lineup

Probably my favorite possible lineup considering the circumstances (Gordon being banged up). Says more about the rest of the Bulls than these five, but still.

When I realized it was the Bulls opening night about 2 minutes ago I got pretty excited, let me tell you.

 

Then about 1 minute ago I realized I wouldn't get to watch the game.
