I wasn't an Edmonds fan when he was on the Cards because he was a fantastic hitter that killed the Cubs, and had a knack for turning normal defensive plays into highlight reel plays.

I wasn't a fan of the Cubs signing Edmonds because he was just released from the worst team in baseball.

Of course, as long as he leads the team in SLG, it's hard not to root for him, even if he now turns normal defensive plays into doubles.

I absolutely expect you to cheer for him. It's just weird to see the lovefest, that's all. Hated probably isn't strong enough of a word for his days in St. Louis.

So they should be happy about his performance up to an arbitrary point that you've apparently defined? You're being ridiculous.

No. That's not what I'm doing at all. Where on earth do you get that?

Nah, forget it. I was making a simple comment and it's blown out of porportion. Carry on with the Edmonds lovefest.

Long gone are the days of "Edmonds is gay, wears eyeliner, etc" I suppose huh?

no, i'm pretty sure he still wears eyeliner. don't know if he's gay, though.

No, he recently got married. He stopped being gay when the Cubs signed him.

Just for the record, I don't like the idea of Marmol walking anyone on purpose. He already has enough trouble with that on accident, and nobody really hits bloop singles off him anyway.

Strike 2 looked outside.

Ball 2 looked like the textbook definition of a strike, though, so the end result was the same.

I knew when the Cubs tied it up in the 7th that if we could get through the 8th, our chances of winning were much better. I feel much better about this game now.

How about Jimmy ball game with his 3rd home run a walk off? :D

Having unexpected production out of CF? Awesome. Knowing that it drives Cards fans crazy, and calling him "Jimmy Ballgame" gets under their skin? Priceless.

I don't know what a lovefest is, but when a Cubs player hits a HR for the Cubs, the response is generally very positive, when he hits 2 in the same game, it's even more positive.
