The apology brigade is out in force, I see.

Samardzija got a very borderline call on a 3-2 pitch for his first out, then gave up a solid gb single, then couldn't execute a pitchout, then gave up a deep line drive that was fortunately in the deepest part of the park, then gave up a solid double, then induced a popup.

ERA of 9, WHIP of 2.00, hitters hit 400/400/600 off of him.

There's no way you can slice this into a good outing. It was a bad outing.

How's his outing now? C'mon eat the crow.

I personally thought that his stuff looked more devastating in the first inning overall, but nothing to complain about there. Very nice inning. His ERA is now lower than Howry's.

He recovered well, but the fact is that he had a one run lead when he came in and the game is tied now. This is a really dumb conversation on both sides.

How was his stuff? What was he throwing? I noticed references to the FB and slider in the thread...no split?

What crow? That I didn't realize his outing wasn't over? I guess that's fine. I eat crow that I didn't know the inning wasn't going to be his entire outing.

It was still a bad inning.

If we get at least 1 run here, send Shark back out?? At least to start the b8?

EDIT: I'm a soapdropping [expletive]. NM. Who closes? Heartattack special.. err, I mean Marmol??

Nice work Shark!

Time to put up a crooked number and hopefully Lou will let Wuertz close it out. No appearances in the past 15 days and just two in July?? I know he got smoked by Cincy but wow.

Looked strictly FB slider. Threw mostly his fast ball but both seemed to move really well.

Can we try to stop with telling posters to "eat crow" and calling a block of posters "apology brickade", etc.? It makes game threads completely unreadable.

Or the fact that we only scored 2 runs today.

I think we should let Ohman pitch.

Edmonds healthy enough to PH?

I know Reed is 2-2 with a walk against righties today, but Edmonds is much better vs. righties
