I dont see how we can assume he is doing this to a sox fan. He is looking forward, and though im not sure of the bullpen dimensions at Comisky i think the fans would be behind him.

there's a difference between a player inadvertently getting caught on camera flipping off fans or whoever and a pitcher flipping the bird on the mound knowing that everyone will see it. kerry got caught, he didn't chase down a microphone to say that all sox fans are idiots. players do stuff like this all time - edmonds used to flip off bleacher fans behind his back when he was with the cards - the humor value is when they get caught doing it.
