He actually said that. Took me a few minutes to figure out how the hell he came up with these numbers, and I then responded with... Your only necessary response was that the genius over on the southside was prepared to spend 2x what Hendry did to land Wood, yet he chose the Cubs.

Here's a thought...Trade Z to the Yankees for prospects who we then could spin in a trade with the Rays for Matt Garza. We save some money and headaches, while also filling in the void with a more dependable starter. Heck, we should still have room for Brandon Webb as well. Get it done Jimbo!

I hate when managers mail in a game by playing all of his backups in the same game. That said, the Cubs should have won today's game against a brutal pitcher. Just when you think the Cubs might turn the page, we all get kicked in the groin by this team. Frankly, I don't care who they dump (outside of Castro, Marmol, Bryd, Cashner, Soto and Colvin).
