  1. Did we really try to bunt with two outs and the go-ahead run on 3B? I know Campana is fast but we have gotten way to bunt happy...Next spring training, I vote for a HR contest!
  2. I NEVER want to see Carlos "crap-my-pants" Marmol take the mound again! Dempster pitches his tail off and this chump comes in to blow it in less than 5 minutes...
  3. I really think I may have to pay more attention to the Iowa Cubs this year than the club playing at Wrigley. Boy, I already feel like I usually do in August...
  4. So very Cub like...Why would I think that things would be different this year.
  5. But your closer needs to make them earn it and not put the lead-off hitter on with a walk.
  6. Garza is far from a "ho-hum" pitcher. If being named an ALCS MVP and tossing a no-hitter before he hits his prime is boring in your book, man I'd like to learn what a good player does. Pena isn't chopped liver either...
  7. He actually said that. Took me a few minutes to figure out how the hell he came up with these numbers, and I then responded with... Your only necessary response was that the genius over on the southside was prepared to spend 2x what Hendry did to land Wood, yet he chose the Cubs.
  8. Here's a thought...Trade Z to the Yankees for prospects who we then could spin in a trade with the Rays for Matt Garza. We save some money and headaches, while also filling in the void with a more dependable starter. Heck, we should still have room for Brandon Webb as well. Get it done Jimbo!
  9. Rest in peace Ronnie....You're a true Hall of Famer in the hearts of every Cubs fan.
  10. I hate when managers mail in a game by playing all of his backups in the same game. That said, the Cubs should have won today's game against a brutal pitcher. Just when you think the Cubs might turn the page, we all get kicked in the groin by this team. Frankly, I don't care who they dump (outside of Castro, Marmol, Bryd, Cashner, Soto and Colvin). See ya...
  11. Only the Cubs can go from scoring 14 runs one game to having leadoff hitters on second base two innings in a row and stranding them on base...
  12. That's pretty impressive to give up 9 runs on just 3 hits... Time to switch over to my back-up team...go Red Sox!
  13. Well, there goes this game...I don't see us coming back from this defecit.
  14. New slogan to replace Year One: "The 2010 Chicago Cubs...There's no scoring opportunity that we can't find some way to waste!"
  15. A truly heartless performance that better result in the Cubs backing up the truck... I want Ryno and I want him now....He wouldn't put up with this crap...
  16. Well, probably not the case at all, but ok. It would sure seem that way, no? In what way do the White Sox have a better lineup or rotation than us on paper? I was referring to caring - both care. As far as the rotation goes; if you can't realize how much better the Sox rotation is there's no helping you. Actually, the Cubs starters, and entire pitching staff, has outperformed the Sox this year. And their offenses are virtually identical. Yet, somehow, the Cubs are 8 (soon to be 9) games under .500 and the Sox are 3 (soon to be 4) games over .500. Crazy. The only saving grace is that just two weeks ago, most would have said that the Sox were worse than the Cubs. So there could be hope if we could see some sort of production from the core of our team.
  17. And I hold Lou responsible for having his team ready to play to their potential each and every day.
  18. This is our worst nightmare... A crappy team just two weeks ago, the Sox couldn't be any hotter right now... While the Cubs are a complete laughingstock where two of the team's supposed leaders get into it in the dugout and our "ace" pitcher is gone after one inning... When's training camp start?
  19. Ronnie is the ultimate Cub ambassador, but I have to admit that I'm looking forward to having him out of the booth. If it wasn't for Pat, listening to a game on the radio would be unbearable. It's painful enough to experience the Cubs this year, but then to hear Ron's moans and groans after each and every play is just too much to handle...
  20. Why on earth would you be bunting with your best hitter at the plate this early in the game? (and in typical Cub fashion, we can't even get the runners over...)
  21. Seriously, only the Cubs could make the Sox look like a half-way decent team....BRUTAL!
  22. Not even the Cubs generally horrid baseball performance can ruin my Blackhawks Stanley Cup high right now...I just hope it lasts until football starts, because this Cubs team has flatlined.
  23. Cubs define new ways to lose a game...Let's see: 1) We finally scratch across a run, but can't come through with a clutch hit from our top RBI producer that would have opened up the game. 2) Subsequently, the lead is shortlived when Lilly gives it right back on the NEXT pitch! 3) Then our stud closer gives up two runs on one hit, including the game winner who was intentionally walked. Maybe the BP Cup is appropriate for these two horsebleep teams we have in this town!
  24. ...and Wells ties a major league record for the shortest starting pitching stint. Not good...but hey, there's time!
