Boy, I've missed all the knee jerk reactions since the season has ended. I was really high on Ceda as well, but I think he slipped this year posting a 4-3 record, 9 saves and 3.83 ERA at A and AA, which isn't great. Plus people are concerned about his weight. So thinking we could get more for him is debatable. I really don't think Jim believes that Gregg can or will replace Woody. And Woody has proven his loyalty to the Cubs in the past, so I fully expect him to resign unless he is blown away by a new deal. My guess is that Gregg was acquired to take the place of Howry, or hopefully to be included in a Peavy deal since the Pads apparently will be in the market for a closer.
