That would be amazing...and I'm sure that Bedard would at least be ahead of Lilly in the rotation as well. However, I'd imagine that the M's would want a hefty price considering all they had to give up to get him. Burnett might be a cheaper option. -

Great move Jimbo...talk about stealing the thunder of the Brew Crew...We essentially give up Gallegher for Harden because Murt and Patterson have no real future with the Cubs and who knows about Donaldson. Great day to be a Cubs fan!

ally give the Cubs wins because those teams are so bad. Also, I'm pretty sure we'll see Harang, Cueto, and Volquez in the Reds series. and Cain and Lincecum in the next one. Plus we have that horrible finish to the year. I don't get the false confidence some are showing. That confidence comes from having the best record in the NL.

Well, let's see... 1. Going into the bottom of the 9th with a 2-run lead....check 2. Insert mostly stud closer...check 3. Bottom of the lineup due up for a team that had scored 4 runs in 17 innings...check 4. One out away from a huge W..check 5. Allowing an ex-pitcher to win the game...an unfortunate check time for a few beers (and they won't be Buds!)

On the contrary...I remember hearing people say that Prior had the best pitching motion coming out of college that they'd ever seen. The story changed, though, after he started getting hurt. Then all the "experts" starting changing their stories.

He struck out the first two Giants on 6 pitches...he can't be all bad. Call me crazy for not wanting to trade a player who has the most potential of any young reliever in the game.

I would in a heartbeat. Sabbathia is a Cy Young winner. Marmol is great, but not a Cy Young candidate. Are you crazy? What, you trade a very young and dominant relief pitcher just because he has a couple of bad weeks?

Lou is an in-game moran. Almost Dusty-level. Yeah, it's amazing we have the best record in the NL with a manager as dumb as Lou...what, he's only in the top 20 of all-time winningest managers, isn't he? Meanwhile, Marmol goes from unhittable the first two batters to horsecrap awfully quickly....

I really can't recall a Cubs team that has this many guys who I love watching them play ball. I'm thinking of getting a new Cubs road jersey, but the question is who? - D Lee - A-Ram - Soriano - Soto - Theriot - Fukudome - Zambrano - Marmol - Woody - and dare I say Edmonds!

A blind person could see the $$$ impact of a World Series title for the Cubs. So if we can better our chances by investing in a high-priced player or two, I think they will have no problem doing it.
