I was the guilty party who was over there mixing it up with some of those morons. Their hatred for the Cubs blinds them to the simple fact that at this point in the season the Cubs have the best team in baseball. Popular opinion for why it won't continue: 1. The Cubs can't win on the road: I guess being all of 3 games under is the death blow, even though only 4 teams in MLB are over 500 away from home. 2. We have lucked out playing every bad team in the league (Pirates...Pirates...Pirates) and when we face a good team we don't see their best pitchers/players. Although even when you include the Pirates record against the Cubs, it still puts them above the vaunted Tigers and Indians in the suddenly weak AL Central. And, although I'm not a statistician, I think that after a third of the season, every team's schedule starts to even itself out. 3. (My favorite) The Cubs always choke. Like this year's team really cares or is affected in any way by the woeful teams of the past. Idiot Sox fans (I distinguish because there are good baseball fans on the southside as well) completely ignore that this is the most balanced and talented Cubs team since 84 at a minimum. They can't face facts, they simply talk conjecture about what the future may hold. Meanwhile, they ignore that their team can't hit and that they are relying on a 40+ year old pitcher and two other guys who haven't even pitched a full season in the bigs....Good luck to them, they'll need it!
