  1. Raise beer prices at Wrigley by a quarter if you have to, but it's time to eat Marquis' contract and end this bad experiment.
  2. Always good to see a fellow Tiger (BJ, '92) mixing it up with Sox fans!
  3. I wouldn't. Neither would the Indians. with an extension would you? Absolutely...If we would be willing to bankroll the extension, who wouldn't want Z and CC as a dominant front end of the rotation. Add in Lilly, Demp and one of the Seans and you have a very nice staff.
  4. Leave it to me to apparently stir the pot...I thought I was simply providing a rather logical reason for why the Cubs might be getting more media attention....Cubs fans outnumber Sox fans what 2-1, 3-1? I had to laugh though, did they not expect the media to jump on Ozzie's latest rant?
  5. Time to send Fonty down and bring Ascanio back up...
  6. I know a win is still a win, but I would have really prefered not to blow both of our closers in a game where we had a 7-3 lead. Go Cubs! Let's go for a Divine Nine tomorrow night!
  7. Please don't use Marmol in the 9th Lou...don't waste even one more pitch with a 4-run lead.
  8. How sweet will it be to see Cotts regain his 2005 form while Aardsma pitches for the (Red)Sox!
  9. How many tough catches are the Pads outfielders going to catch tonight?
  10. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Leadoff hitter?
  11. I'm starting to really like this ex-Cardinal...
  12. That's more like it...now let's get some runs!
  13. Bad call blue...How hard is it for an ump to confirm a tag play? Come on Z....let's get a quick 1-2-3 and get back to working on Baek.
  14. Traditionally, our offense has warmed up along with the weather. Does that mean that even better offense is to come? Last year, Soriano had only 4 HRs at the end of May as opposed to 3x that many now. D-Lee waited until some time in August (forgot the exact date) to hit his 13 HR. And Ram really hasn't had his typically hot steaks yet. I think we'll see more fireworks out of this team in the coming months.
  15. I was the guilty party who was over there mixing it up with some of those morons. Their hatred for the Cubs blinds them to the simple fact that at this point in the season the Cubs have the best team in baseball. Popular opinion for why it won't continue: 1. The Cubs can't win on the road: I guess being all of 3 games under is the death blow, even though only 4 teams in MLB are over 500 away from home. 2. We have lucked out playing every bad team in the league (Pirates...Pirates...Pirates) and when we face a good team we don't see their best pitchers/players. Although even when you include the Pirates record against the Cubs, it still puts them above the vaunted Tigers and Indians in the suddenly weak AL Central. And, although I'm not a statistician, I think that after a third of the season, every team's schedule starts to even itself out. 3. (My favorite) The Cubs always choke. Like this year's team really cares or is affected in any way by the woeful teams of the past. Idiot Sox fans (I distinguish because there are good baseball fans on the southside as well) completely ignore that this is the most balanced and talented Cubs team since 84 at a minimum. They can't face facts, they simply talk conjecture about what the future may hold. Meanwhile, they ignore that their team can't hit and that they are relying on a 40+ year old pitcher and two other guys who haven't even pitched a full season in the bigs....Good luck to them, they'll need it!
  16. That's why when he was traded to Washington he agreed to switch from 2B to LF, no? What proof do we have that Soriano is in fact a prima dona? Since he's been on the Cubs all I have heard him say publicly is that whatever Lou chooses to do is fine with him. Man, the hatred for this guy is something else.
  17. My man crush for this team continues to grow...what an AMAZING comeback! I'm starting to get a special feeling about this season...
  18. Yeah, the Cubs haven't shown an ability to come from behind to win a game...
  19. Too bad Woody won't get a save opportunity. This is at least the third game that I can remember the Cubs busting it open in the 8th to cost KW a save. Oh well....
  20. I thought people were saying that DeRo wasn't clutch?
  21. Wow...I guess Soriano was a bit faster than posters gave him credit for. Have some faith... GO CUBS!
  22. You don't trust Johnson, a pinch hitter and Soriano to push a run across? I do :D
