  1. Man I hate when Lilly throws BP...this is starting to get old
  2. Looks like Danks is definitely hittable today...let's keep it going.
  3. Well, that's a way to let Danks off the hook.
  4. Geo-POWER! We need a big series from him and DeRo
  5. Maybe Lilly should consider pitching around the guy who hit 2 HRs yesterday. Sounds like that one was crushed.
  6. Come on...let's give Lilly a good lead this inning....D-Lee and Ram are due to heat up!
  7. I think because it's to appease both the Cubs and Sox fans. Tommorow Len and Bob will be on WGN and the WS announcers on CSN. Sunday is on ESPN. Though I can't imagine that even White Sox fans would like to hear the Hawk. Hordes of them think he's great. In fairness, many Sox fans also can't stand him. I would have thought our announcers broadcast in Wrigley and vice versa.
  8. Why would WGN possibly put those two moron on the air for a Cubs home game? I'm pissed because I have to watch the Tivo version tonight and won't be able to turn on Pat and Ron...arrgghhh
  9. Don't worry...you'll be drinking some free beer come Sunday...we own Wrigley!
  10. No, automatic outs = Augie, Macias, pretty much any C from last year...but I have higher expectations for Murt and Cedeno. GO CUBS!
  11. Absolutely....This has been my feeling for a while now. Just look at how successful the wild card teams have been in past years. It's because they had to fight down to the wire playing great baseball just to make the playoffs and oftentimes there is a carryover effect. Heck, our team last year could have easily made it to the World Series with that lineup if we had 2 guys get hot at the right time. I believe we have the team to win the division right now, but our focus needs to be acquiring 1-2 pitching pieces that will fill key positions come playoff time.
  12. Wojo's article actually made me feel better after last night's implosion.....I need to get my positive mojo going for this afternoon's epic battle. Keep thinking: 1. The Cubs have the best record in baseball (check) 2. The Cubs have the best home record in baseball (check) 3. A man named Soto will lead us to the promised W land (check, check) GO CUBS!
  13. Dude - seriously. Relax. Why? Things are looking much worse than they did not too long ago. I'm not saying we're going to fall apart and miss the playoffs or anything. But this no longer looks like a potential 100-win season. Even 100-win teams lose 3 straight. Relax...We'll be fine. I'm not worried about the three straight losses. The first two were fluky, one-run, couldve-gone-either-way games. I'm worried because we still can't hit outside Wrigley, and I'm worried because Piniella's inability to properly manage a pitching staff is catching up with us and several of our pitchers are showing signs of damage from idiotic use. A couple one-run losses before the blowout don't worry me. But there are legit reasons to worry. We looked fine coming out of the Blue Jays series...don't you think?
  14. At least we didn't lose any ground on the Cardinals and we did lose to the team with the second best home record in baseball....Thank goodness that we have the best mark at home in the game...we're going to need some home cookin' this weekend... GO CUBS!
  15. Well that could certainly have gone better...Let's hope they are pissed coming back in town to face the Sox, because I sure am...
  16. Well....good idea and it took a great play to beat us....I like how we fought back. Let's get em tomorrow night. We need to get Big Z his 9th W...
  17. Come on Reed, line one to the gap and give us the lead...
  18. Since the Cubs have the best record in baseball, logic would say that the NL would have the best chance if they take more players from that team :D
  19. Well that's one way to win the game! (Guess the naysayers will say we got lucky again)... GO CUBS GO!
  20. I think it's safe to say that KW has evolved into a DOMINANT closer!
  21. Let's go get a run, make Woody the winner and sweep the Braves out of town!
  22. I HEART JIM EDMONDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Boy, I was about to post to lament that Geo almost tied it up for us)
  23. I don't care if Hendry has to give up: a) Our entire minor league system b) The Chicago 2016 Olympics bid c) My 401(k) savings if it results in a World Series championship for the Cubs this year!
