Weems. That's a decent pick.

Really, his scouting report says he can't shoot or guard.

Weems is a player. he's very raw, but a a ridiculous athlete. He made tremendous progress from his junior year to his senior, when he was clearly the best player the Hogs had on the offensive side. He fell in love with his outside shot and got into trouble there, but he had to be. His defense is, in my estimation, about average for a college player, which is below average at the NBA level. His big thing is that he's an athletic freak who has been very steadily improving as a basketball player. Comparing him to a CDR, his upside is much higher, though all bets are off with regards to his ability to reach that upside.

None of which matters if you're a Bulls fan because he just got traded.

Yeah, we traded him and a couple of future 2nd rounders for some Turkish guy. At least he's a big guy, but (this should sound familiar) he has no offensive game, relies on his defense, and he might not even come to the States for as long as five years from now.

Great move there Pax.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Minnesota Timberwolves have traded No. 3 pick O.J. Mayo to the Memphis Grizzlies for Kevin Love in an eight-player, late-night blockbuster long after the NBA draft concluded.

The Grizzlies confirmed the deal shortly before holding an early Friday morning news conference.

The Timberwolves also received shooter Mike Miller and frontcourt retreads Brian Cardinal and Jason Collins from Memphis in exchange for the draft rights to Mayo, forward Antoine Walker and guards Marko Jaric and Greg Buckner.

"In another shocking development, the Portland Trailblazers just traded some old bastards for Lebron James."

Seriously, it's the only way left for them to get any younger or more talented.

C- Oden

PF- Aldridge

SF- Webster

SG- Roy

PG- Bayless

Bench- Frye, Arthur, Outlaw

Plus Paul Allen's money. Wow.

add in Pryzbilla on the bench

and Sergio Rodriguez in Europe

wow

Who is already coming over this season. I gotta say, I am as happy as I can be with this draft and administration. Living through the repeated "jail-blazer" media years, Portland was no longer a fun town when it came to the Trailblazers. I moved out the year that Wallace was dealt but I still follow them fairly closely.

I REALLY loved their draft last year. Most teams would have been content with Oden but they were active and set themselves up for more in McRoberts & Rodriguez. This draft, they again were active but smart. Got arguably the best shooter in the draft and landed a top 10 talent for cash seems pretty solid. Not to mention that their second round picks kept them involved with future Europeans when they are developed, it is exciting to be a Blazer fan again.

Not to mention that McMillian is horribly underrated as a coach.

Yeah. Sounds like Paxson found the next Dragan Tarlac, or Dalibor Bagoric.

This is the best night for the Pacers in years. I might actually be interested in them next season.

Are you joking? I like Rush and Jack is a good pair with Ford, but they traded the steal of the draft. This was a bad night for the Pacers.

Anyone have any info on this Shan Foster guy out of Vanderbilt that the Mavs took?

Foster has pretty decent size for a guard, and he can fill it up. He's a strong pick for where the Mavs were at.

He seems really long to me from the few times I've seen him play. And, yeah, he can be as good a shooter as there is out there. Reminds me a little of Reggie Miller with the way he plays. Probably a little more athletic but not as much basketball skill.

I beleive that there are some questioning if Foster will be able to shoot the NBA three. He is a specialist, so he had better be able to.

of Omer Asik
Trib[/url]"]Asik is a work in progress who played for Alpella Istanbul last season and is expected to stay overseas to develop. At 220 pounds, he is considered underweight for a center— and a little unathletic.

Shoots below 50 percent from the free-throw line. Good reach, good hands and a capable shot-blocker. Likes playing with his back to the basket. A late bloomer who has progressed considerably over the last two years.

OK...let's stop saying this freshman being the top picks things. The NBA's new rule is what forced this to happen and if they didn't have it, it would have been 3 HS'ers. Sorry, but hearing this over and over again on ESPN is driving me crazy.

I kind of figured when I heard ESPN painting it as the worst deal ever for the T-Wolves that they were wrong. But then again, whenever ESPN says anything I usually assume it's wrong first, until it's proven right.

huh? That is a terrible deal for Minnesota. They give up a potential star in Mayo for a player(Love) who had no business being a top 5 pick.

Is that the same Mike Miller that played for Florida?

AND Mike Miller and more bad contracts. It wasn't Love for Mayo straight up.

The Wolves definitely got the better end of this deal.
