I don't think reds44 did anything wrong - he's poking fun at our Dusty hate, but I'd expect anyone with Dusty as their manager to do that.

Dusty hates kids; Doesn't spank Darren when he tells his father to "shut up"

this will show those cubs fans

I'm pretty sure I was an all-out Dusty apologist for at least 03 and prob most of if not all of 04. Man did I feel stupid.

This.

Yeah, I was literally stunned as that was happening. I think everyone other than Baker knew what was going to happen.

Too bad Dusty doesn't do analysis, because it's really very simple: Baker is always da man in his first year with any team, then the free fall starts.

The simple solution for him is to just sign a succession of one year deals with different teams. That way, he could become the most respected manager in baseball.

I can proudly say that I was never on the Baker bandwagon. His reputation with young players preceded him, and this proven "winner" had a funny knack for managing teams that fell apart in spectacular, come-from-ahead implosions.

Grow up people. It was a shot at us for all the shots we have taken at him about Dusty. Get over it.

Let the jabs end both ways.

I think we need to redefine what is acceptable for an opposing team fan on this forum. This is what is listed now:

This is a Cub fan message board. Fans of rival teams are welcome here, but realize that fans of any rival team are naturally biased. Good-natured ribbing and friendly rivalry are acceptable. But the Cub fans who post here regularly have the right to not be baited into meaningless arguments. Stating what should be obvious -- that this is a Cubs discussion board -- does serve notice to other fans in a respectful manner that trolling behavior is neither welcomed nor tolerated.

I'm not saying anything that reds44 is doing is anything more than good-natured ribbing. But usually his posts are more aggressive than a majority of fans from other teams that post here. Especially when the topic is EXTREMELY sensitive (Dusty Baker).

Do things really have to be that serious? Who cares? I don't see the big deal. This is a sports message board, thats all.

Not really sure how this is a meaningless argument or anything other than good nautred ribbing.

I hate you all. The end.

And here is reds44's Dusty complaint numbero uno:

Get Corey Patterson out of the starting lineup, and when he does play he belongs nowhere nearthe leadoff spot. Could be an assest as a PR and defensive repalcement, but this everyday CF and leadoff man has gone down the pooper in a hurry.

Patterson is now 1 for his last 24, and he is hitting below .200. Black. Hole. Jay Bruce where art thee?

Hmm...it seems as though somebody(or a hundred of them) may have predicted this would happen. :-"

You wonder how Derrek Lee won a batting crown and had 99 XBH in the three hole and only ended up with 107 RBI in 2005?

Dusty values one thing above all else in the leadoff spot: speed. Even if it means batting two guys with sub-.300 OBP's at the top. So long as they are fast, dude.

In other words, get used to it.

Reds44 for manager in Cincinatti !!! 8-)

Actually, as a Cubs fan, I prefer Dusty, but only because it means more wins for the Cubs.

Speaking of abuse...I wonder how long it is going to take for Dustbag to destroy new Reds phenom Cueto? I bet he'll be throwing towels next season.

Has yet to throw over a 100 pitches in a start this season. The great thing about Cueto is his unrela control keeps his pitch count low.

Patterson is quickly approaching sub .200 OBP.

0 for his last 20, and something like 1 for his last 28.
