I think you are missing the fact that the camera angle at PNC Park is different than most ballparks. Its more off to the right side. So a lot of pitches to that side of the plate look like strikes when they are balls.

 

And the fact that if you demonstrate the control of Ricky Vaughn throughout the first three innings, you're not going to get borderline calls.

I tried to warn people coming in that we would have some starting pitching problems this year. Granted its only 9 games, but it already looks like this may be happening.

I'm all for honoring the dude. Give every player in the majors jersey patches if you want to. I just don't see the point in retiring the number if it's going to be allowed to be worn. I know it's a different issue, but I'd be ticked if a Bull wore MJ's 23 no matter what the intent was.
