Cedeno for starting short stop.

Okay, I'm converted. I was one of those in the camp of "Theriot sucks - but he's the best we got." Screw it and just play Cedeno.

I'm watching on MLB gameday - was it a well placed gapper or a shot over the CF's head?

Gameday's dot - which usually shows where it falls - was at the wall.

I'm watching the Pittsburgh feed on MLB EI, the Cedeno shot was over the CFer's head in dead center.

Whats up with Lilly's velocity? I remember him hitting around 90,91 Now it seems he tops out at 88

Yea, Lou was saying that his fastball wasn't "there" after his start last week. I'm a little worried, but he should hopefully be able to pick up that 2-3 mph eventually.

I really have never had a man crush on a player as quickly as I have for Fukudome.

Well, actually, maybe Prior. And Wood.

My crush on Nomar was pretty instant too, but that was based on prior reputation. As far as going from zero to crush, I'd say fuku is the quickest.

I lOVE the Fukudome signing. This is exactly what we needed over Jones and Floyd.

I know, I'm almost completely satisfied with every starting position player on this team. Cept CF and SS...and sometimes LF

Home runs:

CUBS: none

This is my favorite part of the box score thus far.

7 runs with no bombs = nice.

Kosuke is going to bankrupt Walgreens one walk at a time.

You're right. Nomar too. That was a massive oversight by me.

I really hope you meant LF.

No kidding. The guy was an INSTANT fan favorite at wrigley. Of course, when you take your first MLB pitch for a double that will happen.

But, honestly, anytime anyone even says his name half of the bleachers stand up and start bowing. And I'm pretty sure more people now own those Fukudome headbands than own cubs hats.

I need to get one of those.

Might be a good time to sell Walgreens stock....lots of unforseen expense this summer....

Sponsoring Cubs walks over the last few years would cost you about $100 a week...we're looking at $4-500 a game this year!

I will be at Wrigley in a week or so. That is one of the first things I am going to look for.

I just checked all the stats on the Pirates lineup and not a single one of them has a career OPS higher than .800

As arbitrary a guideline for hitting success it may be, thats incredibly mediocre for the Pirates.
