What the hell is going on? I leave for 20 min and this happens. Arhhh!

I left for a bit, too. The first thing I hear when I turn the game back on is the error that made it 7-2.

this just reeks of one of those classic "cubs get shoutout the rest of the way" games. fitting it to a "T"

yep. I called it so far this year......this is 2004 all over again

great job out there lilly.

You can't blame those errors on him. He was probably pissed, and I'd be pissed if I was on the mound and my dumbass teammates can't perform basic fundamentals taught to them when they were 7 years old.

you realize they were singles before the errors right? that triple would have brought them in regardless

As long as the Pirates get shut out the rest of the way, too, I'm ok with it.

Nice poll question, haha.

How many votes will the 1938 Homer in the Gloamin' get?

I don't think too many 80-year-olds will be texting.

Exactly my issue with Cedeno....the bat doesn't make up for the defensive lapses.

Compared to who? Theriot doesn't get to that ball and two runs score either way.

I didn't say that Theriot would have gotten to that ball, but if he did, I doubt it ends up in the stands.

But he wouldn't have, so it's moot.

I'm not the one who brought up Theriot. Good stops are fantastic, but if you throw it into the stands or into the dugout, it's a waste.

For the last time...Theriot doesn't even get to the ball in the first place, and the runs still score.

I think he's just saying that the overall result on defense would've been the same.

And there's probably a better chance of Cedeno making that throw properly than of Theriot gloving that ball, FWIW.

Can't blame the errors on him, but the 2 walks to load the bases, constantly behind the batters and 3-2 counts to every hitter almost. He has no one to blame but himself. Listening to Pat and Ron, neither play by Ronnie or Aramis would have been an out, just the second run on each not scoring.
