I'm beginning to get the feeling I'm a Pac-10 homer since I went with USC over Wisconsin in the second round.

Nah, I put them in over Wisconsin in one set of picks. They'll beat K-State(they have the athletes to slow Beasley/Walker, and Frank Martin is inept), and they're athletic enough to give Wisconsin trouble.

Bukie's right about Wisconsin in Detroit though. Picking a winner out of KU and Georgetown/Wisconsin is extremely tough.

I picked all the 9,10,11, & 12 seeds in the 1st round. I figure some of them will win and I'll get more pts. for picking a low seed. Hopefully i can win $1500.

As if I wasn't excited enough already, ND gets Gus Johnson.

Thursday can't possibly arrive soon enough.

ND gets Gus Johnson, but you can't be too excited about that. You know that Gus does close games for a living.

As far as UNLV-Kent State goes, that was a tough one for me too, but I picked UNLV. I'm not betting against a Lon Kruger-led team in the 1st round for teams that match up pretty evenly.

I have USC in the Final Four and Siena to beat Vanderbilt. Otherwise, nothing too crazy besides a couple of 10's, 11's, and 12's winning.

I got Duke out in the second round to the winner of Zona/WVU. Texas winning it all and Clemson tentatively in the final game. 1,3,5,3,4,2,1,10 in the elite eight

Final game as in national title game? Clemson isn't very good.

I respectfully disagree. Clemson is very good. No, I don't think they're going to make the title game, but they're still very good. I think people don't give them much credit because, well, they're Clemson. And everyone remembers last year when they started out hot, but it turned out to be smoke and mirrors once they started play in the ACC. This year's team is different, and I would not want to see them in the tournament. Ken Pomeroy's efficiency statistics have them at #13 in the nation, they're very athletic, and defend pretty durn well, especially on the perimiter.

Sometimes I hate filling out brackets. As a complete UNC homer, I HAVE to pick them to win the whole thing, at least when they have a reasonable chance of doing so (and they do). Logically, though, I know that they're probably the weakest 1 seed, and they're also in the toughest bracket, so if I had to bet on one top seed NOT to make the final four, I'd pick them.

But I have to pick them to win the whole thing. You see my dilemma.

I'm the same way. I always pick KU, even when I know better.

I don't have that problem this year. No in seriousness do two pools. One were you pick your team and then one where you really think about it. Although in KU and UNC's cases I guess you at leas talways have a shot. Try having this dilemna when your team is a 12 seed.

well, kansas lost to vandy and georgetown lost to davidson, so it sounds pretty easy to me.

I want to pick Butler to the Elite 8, but I picked Tennessee to the Final Four in the beginning of the season (actually picked them last year knowing the transfers would be ready). Still, it wouldn't surprise me to see them beat UT, Louisville, and give UNC a run for their money. Other than that, I'd say Davidson, Arizona, and St. Joe's are legit cinderella threats as double digit seeds.

yeah i was all ready to pick tennessee to go to the final four as a 2 seed, and then they paired against unc. butler as a 7 is tough too. they really have a right to complain about the path they got.

Eh, UNC's overrated. I'd take UCLA, Tennessee, Memphis, and Kanasa as better teams. I don't doubt that Wisconsin or Georgetown could beat them in a head-to-head game. Heck, UNC better watch out for the IU/Arkansas winner.

This just feels like one of those years where 10-12 teams are significantly better than everyone else. UNC, Kansas, Memphis, UCLA, Duke, Texas, Tennessee, Louisville, Georgetown, Xavier, Wisconsin...all of them feel like easy picks to the Sweet 16.

My bracket currently has all 4 1's to the Elite Eight, against two 2's and two 3's.

Although I have a 1, a 2, and two 3's in the FF.

Not very happy with my bracket this year, but I usually do terrible when I think I did well anyway. Kansas, Louisville, Stanford, and UCLA are my Final Four, with Kansas beating UCLA for the title. As far as major upsets, I have Siena beating Vandy, Davidson and Temple to the Sweet Sixteen, and West Virginia to the Elite Eight.

I feel the same. My Elite 8 is the same with 4 1s, 2 2s, and 2 3s. Tennessee, Georgetown, UCLA, and Stanford are my final 4. Put Xavier in the Elite 8, not because I think they are special, just that they have a great draw as they matchup well vs. everyone in their 1/2 of the bracket.

And let's give everyone a chance to look smart right now. What's your biggest surprise/upset pick? Mine seems to be concentrated in the West, San Diego to the Sweet 16, and Xavier to the Final 4.

Davidson to the Final 4

I run an auction pool for the tourney. UCLA went for $150.25. More than any 2 teams combined. Next highest was UNC for 90, Memphis for 60, KU for 53.25, Texas for 51, Georgetown for 40. I spent 17 bucks on Davidson.

I like Davidson too, but I have them losing to USC in the Sweet 16. I have W. Kentucky in the Sweet 16 and Stanford in the Final 4 (probably not considered a big upset).

I really get the feeling that UCLA was pulling a Florida at the end of the season and was just bored. I expect a totally different, scary team once the tourney starts.

That'd be great, snood. Darren Collison certainly turned it on in the final regular season games (Stanford and Cal) and in the Pac-10 tourney.

Love practiced and will play on Thursday. Luc missed practice because of a final but wouldn't have practiced even otherwise. He's off crutches, though.

John Gasaway does a bracket breakdown based on efficiency margin.

Kansas was stupidly efficient this year.

Seems to support my opinion that Texas is better on paper than on the court.

Weird. I read it the opposite way. The numbers suggest they shouldn't be as successful as they are.

Ha, well I guess I took the fact the numbers suggested they shouldn't be as successful as they are as an indication that my opinion was correct. Wow, not sure that made any sense. You could read into that either way, I suppose. I watch them, and even understanding what they've accomplished on the court, don't think they're one of the best eight teams.
