I honestly don't understand how somebody like Trent Green gets a 3 year, 9 million dollar deal. He's going to be 38, and all the teams should have refused to sign him for his own personal safety with the head injuries, let alone the ability to play football at a high level.

Add to that, the Titans just signed Jake Scott to a four year contract for slightly more than that (just under $5 mil a year). Tennessee gets a 26 year old, very solid offensive lineman for just over a million more than a washed up, old QB.

This has been a very good offseason for the Titans in my book. After being unhappy after last offseason (and then proven mostly wrong), I must say I'm very pleased with Reinfeldt this offseason.

Where else would a former Colt end up but Tennessee? That's too much money for Scott, by the way.

May be now, but I think Mike Munchak can help him continue to get better. Part of the cost I'm sure was need - both of our projected starting guards, Benji Olson and Jacob Bell, are now gone. We're left with Eugene Amano starting at one guard spot (which I don't mind, I like Amano) and a question mark at the other.

I'm quite sure Scott recognized the need and got a little more than he should have. After the cheap deals we've gotten from Kearse and Crumpler so far, though, I don't mind overpaying for a good player. Plus, it means another former Colt finding the promised land.

maybe rae carruth can be the cowboys' slot receiver next year.

I hear Bill Romanowski for LBer is a possibility for Dallas.

A Falcons fan is making these jokes...cough, cough Michael Vick...cough, cough.

I hope you're talking about Truffle, cause I am NOT a Falcons fan. I am a fan of a team that has the 2nd MOST NFL/Super Bowl Championships in league history. I am a fan of the Chicago Bears. To me they are the ORIGINAL NFL.

You keep harping on this but 2 Championship appearances in 44 years and only 1 win is not impressive when you are trying to tout them this way. Congrats on being a really old franchise that hasn't done that much since 1946.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.....a Cubs fan attacking me for being a Bears fan? Then bringing up the Bears history? Where's the logic in that? The Cubs have a worst history in baseball, then the Bears do in football, and yet people want to bring up the Bears history? That my friend, is what you would call trolling.

Besides, as much as I love the Cubs, and I really do, atleast the Bears have been to TWO SUPER BOWLS, in my lifetime. For those who attack me for being a Bears fans, and "touting the Bears" history look in the dang mirror, especially if you call yourself a "Cub fan." A Cubs, NON-Bears fan have NO ROOM to trash a Cub, Bears fan.

Nonethless, the Bears do have 8 NFL/SUPER Bowl Championships. You can't discount it, simply because the Bears have won too many championship since the 40s.

Panthers cut center Justin Hartwig. I liked Hartwig when he was in Tennessee, hopefully he'll catch on somewhere and get a chance to play.

Article also mentions Ryan Kalil is expected to take over the starting center job in Carolina. No surprise there.

Good.

No surprise on Jarrett. Panthers deserve it for stupidly cutting Keyshawn last year.

I just read on rotoworld.com that the Lions have released Kevin Jones.

Thus again proving that the average lifespan of an NFL running back is 4 years.

That increases the likelihood they address RB in the first round of the draft. Mendenhall at 15, perhaps.

Does Detroit look at players other than guys currently on Tampa or previously?

DT Chuck Darby (former)

CB Brian Kelly

S Kalvin Pearson*

S Dwight Smith (former)

And now they are looking at Michael Pittman.

rotoworld had it right with Hall. If DeAngelo didn't like playing for the Falcons, then he is absolutely is going to see a Shrink if he indeeds ends up in Oakland. Maybe that is why he is saying there is no deal, he simply doesn't want to go to a crappy team like Oakland.

According to the DMN, the Cowboys are in discussions about acquiring Adam Jones from the Titans.

Link.

As long as they're buying low, I'm down.

Some of the rumors I'm hearing (reading) have it being a late round pick (5th or 6th rounder) and Jones agreeing to turn a large portion of his contract into incentives.

My guess is this happens some time in the next week or so.

Fantastic. If he's stayed in shape, it will be worth it to the return game if nothing else.

I think if he's stayed in shape, he and Newman would make a nice pair of CB for coverage. Henry could either shift to safety or work in the nickel packages. I could still see the Cowboys taking a first round corner (Talib, McKelvim, DRC).

Pacman can't cover that well. He's similar to what the Cowboys had in Jacque Reeves actually. I'd imagine the Cowboys would still take a 1st round CB.

Agreed. The media has overhyped Pacman Jones. He's a talented corner, but he isn't an elite corner, right now, and I doubt he'll ever be that guy.

I'm just fortunate that my team (Bears) have two very good, young CBs on the team (Vasher/Tillman). But I do believe they should take another corner in the draft.
