Talib with a pretty good showing. Sub-4.5 speed. 4th best broad jump in the entire combine, 4th best vertical in the entire combine, 3rd best 3-cone among CB. Should be the second corner taken after Rodgers-Cromartie.

I think Leodis McKelvin could end up being the first corner taken.

I think it would be a stretch over DRC. I could see someone maybe taking him over Talib due to his return abilities, but there are serious questions about his ability to tackle and be physical.

I've seen several sites that have both McKelvin and Talib rated above DRC. All three will be good corners in my opinion. I'm not a scout, nor have I seen McKelvin play, but based on what I've read, I don't think DRC will be selected ahead of either McKelvin or Talib. Personally, I hope the Cowboys draft one of those three with one of their first round picks.

I'm totally going off of stuff I've read, too, so I could certainly be wrong. But DRC's combine performance was pretty insane. I'm just rooting for Talib to guy as high as possible.

Tons of talk about Asante Samuel signing a monster deal with the Saints.

After struggling for years watching Saints cornerbacks lining up with "throw it over here! free touchdown!" signs attached to their jerseys, I'd be happy as a pig in crap about this.

Him and McKenzie would be a nice duo at corner for the 'Aints.

Careful, the 49ers said the same thing last year. 90 million dollars later, and we know how that turned out.

Really? Most sites I've been on were really down on Talib saying he would have to move to safety because he is only good when the play is in front of him. My top 5 CB's (and I bet 3-4 are gone by our first pick):

1. Mike Jenkins

2. DRC

3. Antoine Cason

4. Leodis McKelvin

5. Aqib Talib

DRC is my #1 corner. You can't have Talib below Cason and I really like Cason's game.

Cason is very underrated. He was my #1 CB up until the end of the season. There's gonna be a lot of good CBs in the 2nd-3rd rounds. As deep and as good as the RB class. Someone will get a steal between Cason, Flowers, Ikegwuonu, and my boy, Tracy Porter. I even like Dejuan Tribble and Terrelle Thomas.

Read last night that Trevor Laws out-repped Sedrick Ellis of USC - sort of killing Major Knock No. 2 on Laws, his strength. Major Knock No. 1 is height, but I would love Carolina to take Laws in the 3rd or 4th round if he's there.

I want Laws badly for the Colts in either the second or third round. He fits the Colts defense perfectly. He's got a great motor and is a great tackler even while being a little undersized. Unfortunately, I know the Colts will pick some nobody out of Northwestern Montana State that I'll like just as well in 2 years :D.

Ike won't go day 1 after the knee injury.

incomprehensible pittsburgh steelers announcer

passed away today. no truth to the rumor that he called 911, but nobody could understand him, so they hung up.

a sad day for pittsburgh and pittsburghese.

The Colts cut Booger McFarland and Rob Morris today.

Neither one passed a physical. McFarland had a 7 million dollar salary in 2008 with 0 dead money on the cap if he was cut, so it was pretty obvious he was leaving.

Morris adds another million or so to the room. He would have been a backup after his injury anyway.

Welcome home Moose!! Muhammad has been signed by Carolina, and David Carr has predictably been dumped.

You wont be saying welcome home very long, hes a shell of his former self.

Anything is better than the cesspool of crap that was anyone in the receiving corps not named Steve Smith last year.

Pac-Man Jones has been given permission to seek a trade.

Link.

Suspended cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones has been given permission by the Tennessee Titans to pursue a trade, The City Paper has learned.

A league source from one team Jones’ representatives approached at the NFL Combine last weekend confirmed that they had been asked about their interest level in acquiring the cornerback. That team, however, currently has no interest in pursuing Jones

Jones’ agents said last week they would be willing to restructure the cornerback’s contract, if need be, to a more incentive-laden deal if it helps Jones get another chance to play in the NFL either with the Titans or another team.

Arora said last week at the NFL Combine that he would consider asking Goodell to possibly review Jones’ case closer to the time of the April draft to give him a bigger window to be in a team’s plans for 2008.

Is Mungro still on the roster?

No. Mungro hurt his knee in 2006, and the Colts didn't feel he was healthy enough to put on their roster for 2007. Since he hasn't signed with anybody since then, my guess is that the injury was career ending.

Thanks CCP. I knew he hurt it but I wasn't aware of how badly.

It would be really funny if the Cowboys signed Randy Moss this offseason. Him and Owens on the team at the same time could produce some real magic ;-).
