Not only did the Lakers lose to the Hawks, but apparently Kobe dislocated his finger in Tuesday's game against the Nets. Not good.

It was his pinky and it was clearly hurting his shot when I was watching yesterday.

IMB!, what do you think about DeAndre Jordan, the freshman at Texas A&M? Top 5 pick? I like him more than any other draft prospect besides Beasley.

Athletically he's just a shade under Dwight Howard (and a worse FT shooter, too). He really is a freak, but he is raw as hell.

If anyone doesn't know the deal with him, go watch some of his youtube videos. Any 7-footer that can do that is headed to lotto status.

You like him more than Rose?

Right now I do, but Rose is a much safer bet of course.

So, with last night's win against Golden State, the Bulls actually vaulted into the 8 spot in the East. No, really.

I keep hearing that beasley is the best forward since Derick Coleman and Wayman Tisdale. Isn't anyone worried about that being his ceiling? I am not so sure he is a lock down, slam dunk number 1 pick.
Posted
Agree that Beasley isn't a lock for the first pick overall but I think his ceiling is higher than Coleman and Tisdale's and he can definitely have a better career than they did. I wouldn't at all be surprised if a team fell in love with Jordan with his athleticism and potential and take him first overall.

Ben Wallace for Andrei Kirilenko? Bulls fans would you do it? Also supposedly Bulls and Knicks(hahaha) have discussed a deal with Wallace going to NY for Quentin Richardson, Malik Rose, and Fred Jones. Id do either deal in a heartbeat, but I think Id rather have Kirilenko than the Knicks deal.

The Lakers are now 5-1 without Kwame Brown** and 3-1 with Pau Gasol after a 10 point win in Miami today with the only loss coming in the second game of a back-to-back to Atlanta. The best part of the stretch is that all of the games have been on the road and LA is now 5-2 on their road trip with the other loss coming against the Pistons by only a point.

**Yes, I know that correlation does not necessarily equal causation with Kwame but I like to think it does. :D

If I was a Bulls fan I would absolutely do the Kirilenko deal. Kirilenko only has one more year on his deal than Wallace does and is getting paid a couple more million than Wallace the next couple years. But Kirilenko only 27 - well, he will be in a few days - and could get better while Wallace is 33 and only getting worse. Kirilenko can actually be a productive player while Wallace just takes up space on the court.

What a difference a year, and a couple of trades, makes. On Feb 11 of last year the Boston Celtics lost their 18th straight game, a franchise record.

Hmm, not really, but that may just be my guard-bias speaking.

For one thing, look at what Dwight Howard did as a straight out of high school rookie in the NBA

now look at what Jordan is doing as a straight out of high school freshman in the weak big 12.

Not a lot of comparison. His ceiling is way, way high, but you'd like to see something more than tools at this point, at least if you're thinking about drafting him above a guy like Rose. Of course, you know how people are with big men.

Seeing the Bulls play the Warriors, it's clear they'd benefit so much more from playing a much more up-tempo game than the half court crap they've been doing these past years.

The real talent on that team- Deng, Thomas, Thabo, Gordon would be much better suited, and you would just dump leadfooted types Hinrich, Joe Smith, Noah.

Hell, Duhon looked like an actual basketball player.

Heh, you hit the nail on the head. This team is built for an up-tempo style and yet we run this traditional halfcourt crap that really doesn't do us any good.

As for that Wallace-Kirilenko deal, I'd do that deal. I'd rather just give Wallace away for crap to free up cap room in the offseason, but Paxson's not going to go for that. I doubt Paxson's going to do anything anyway.

Heh, I probably have an athletic, high-ceiling big man bias.

If you think Hinrich is "lead-footed," you don't know what you're talking about. He orchestrated the best fast-break offense in college basketball for two years. Scouting reports list his quickness, athleticism, and court awareness as strengths.

You can argue whether or not the Bulls would be better without him. But to say he's some slow-footed, un-athletic throwback PG suggests you're not very familiar with his skill-set.

I like that they compared him all the way down to his lefthandedness. They are decent comparisons though. And just because Coleman and Tisdale didn't have superstar NBA careers, doesn't mean that was their ceiling. I think DC was one of the best college big men I've ever seen. Don't remember much of Tisdale, but I believe he's considered one of the top 30 college players of all time.

both of these guys aren't coordinated enough to play in that style of offense. if hinrich played at that pace he'd lead the league in turnovers. fast paced play doesn't really agree with noah. neither does FT shooting.

Thank you.

I have seen some god-awful scouting reports of Kirk Hinrich on this site. God-awful.

Seriously, what are you talking about? That's the exact style of offense he excelled at in college. How is he not "coordinated"? Ever heard of the "Carolina break"? It was called the "Kansas Break" when Hinrich was in college. And I'm not joking.

I don't know enough about Noah to argue him, but I'm left wondering if you have Aaron Gray and Kirk Hinrich confused here.
