Which Billy did the USC-UCLA game today? That guy is a piece of work. Apparently he felt the need to point out that as an 18 year old O.J. Mayo wasn't as good as Oscar Robinson. No crap Billy, name me which 18 year old is it that is arguably as good as any of the top 5 players of all time. Unreal.

Mizzou led most of the first half and kept it close throughout, but they couldn't hit a three in the second half, and didn't rebound the whole game, and lost 76-70. Rush was bloody terrible, I think he made one field goal and it was a dunk.

This has been a very strange end to the Florida-Kentucky game. Florida was inbounding the ball with 15.5 seconds left. The player had trouble getting it in, and suddenly the ref signaled like Kentucky had called timeout. The Kentucky bench obviously disputed this and wanted a 5 second call. At the same time, another official ran in and said there was a foul even before the first official's whistle. Then, after they get this straightened out, there are back to back timeouts by Florida and Kentucky before the free throws are even shot. Finally Lucas goes to the line and makes 1 of 2. Kentucky goes down and misses the 3, gets the rebound, the ball goes out of bounds, and the ref rules it Florida's ball. Of course, another official runs in and overrules the call late just like what had happened 10 seconds before. Then, Kentucky hits the 3 to send it into OT. I don't think the refs have any idea what's going on in this game.

Now tied with 3:43 to go in OT.

At the end of the N.C. State-Miami game. Miami was up 2 with 11 seconds to go, State's ball. The point guard brings the ball down dishes it to Gavin Grant who drives, misses the layup, and J.J. Hickson comes out of nowhere to tip the ball in to tie it. Then Miami takes the ball out of bounds with 3.5 seconds left. The Miami player throws it right to Gavin Grant who put in a layup to win the game by two in overtime.

the game was filled with questionable calls on both sides. UK just doesn't have the depth right now. that's what you get when tubby smith has "recruited" most of your team. gillispie will have the team back in two years. even with the losses of crawford and bradley, i think they'll be better next year. gillispie still needs to get a big man to help patterson inside.

I thought that was Packer.

Happy to sneak out of CoMo with a win. Gonna have to watch a replay to see what happened.

Some kid from George Mason made all 10 of his 3-point attempts tonight.

You shot 45 free throws on the road. I didn't get to see the game though. I live in Kansas City and the damn thing wasn't on unless you have ESPNU. Comcast here does not.

I like how Weber is benching McCamey and only McCamey for mistakes. It will be sweet when he transfers. This year has proven that we don't need D1 guards.

I just dropped in to say GO BULLDOGS!

Well Hello! I haven't seen one of you outside of Des Moines in over 30 years!

Seriously though if you are a longtime Drake fan, congrats and keep it rolling. I have nothing against Drake at all. Just the hundreds of people who are suddenly Drake fans who couldn't name more than two guys on their roster a few years ago.

I'm an alum, not really a long time fan. Since I graduated, I've always checked their scores online for football and hoops, but they're usually ok/terrible. I couldn't name 2 guys on their roster 2 years ago and I could probably only name 2 guys on their current roster. But I'm still enjoying their success.

And where I'm at, there aren't hundreds of fans coming out of the woodwork. There's just me and one other alum I know in the area. It's probably different back in Iowa, where they're actually getting some press.

WtF does Chester Frazier have on him?

That might have been the best game IU has played all season. Penn St. gave everything they had. They were at one point 8-12 from 3, and over 50% from the field, with most of the shots closely contested. But IU turned a solid defensive effort to a great one at the 11 minute mark, figured out the 2-3 zone, and won going away.

Sampson went no nonsense in the 2nd half, and stayed with the same 5 all half. Gordon stayed under control for a change and Jamarcus Ellis and Eric Gordon were great defensively on Cornley and Battle, respectively.

Nice to see Armon Bassett play well. 5-6 from three point range and finished with 17. I really like Ellis' game.

16-1 (5-0 Big 10).

UConn should be an interesting matchup next week. After losing to Providence, they pounded Marquette today.

Hard not to like Ellis' game. I was telling a buddy of mine, he would be huge come conference season. The offense is a lot better when he is controlling the tempo. He's the best ballhandler and passer on the team. He can see over the defense at 6'5". He's quick. He creates a matchup problem due to size and the fact he is a lefty. IU should destroy zone teams. When Ellis gets into the lane, he should have either corner for a 3 (as you saw on the play to Bassett) or a dump down to DJ (which you saw on the dunk). Bigger teams will obviously be more trouble.

UConn is a bad matchup for IU. They are huge -- 7-3, 6-9 and 6-7 starting frontcourt. They are improving and much better than people think. I believe IU will pull it out at home, but it will definitely be a test.

They should just give you guys the trophy right now.

Hehe...

Just admit that comment about not being a top 4 team in the A-10 was just a tad bit of hyperbole.

Yeah, it's not on espn360 either. Anderson is complaining about the fouls, but they called 30 on MU and 22 on KU, and MU was (according to what I've read) fouling at the end of the game, so that's a pretty even split. The FT discrepancy comes from the fact KU got fouled more in the act of shooting. MU took 28 treys, so it sounds like they jump-shot more than drove.

Again, I'm not gonna say the reffing was fair or unfair because I didn't see the game. But the stats seem to bear out that Mizzou didn't get jobbed like Mike Anderson is claiming.

Mizzou took a lot of jumpers, but they also drove the lane quite a bit. I think the difference was failed shot blocks getting called more than bumps by the body.

Also, I'm pretty sure about 8-10 consecutive block/charging calls went against Mizzou in the second half, I've never seen anything like it.

they only beat psu by 15 and were actually trailing by a point about midway through the second half. plus penn state's best player blew out his knee in the last game. i'm not really seeing how it was an impressive win for iu.
