I realize that this isn't a Big 10 post, and is probably illegal in this thread, but my Vols are playing good basketball in the Battle in Seattle.

Up 12 with just over 10 to go.

Go zags.

Go Vols. 12-1. This could be a 25 win team.

You should get to 25 wins on SEC play alone. There's not really a team close to you guys.

13 points, 11 boards, 6 assists, 1 steal, 1 block and no turnovers for Tyler. Ugh that's depressing.

At least it gives me someone to root for in the tournament this year.

speaking of JJ Reddick, who DOESN'T love those instructional videos calling him the best pure shooter ever?

nah just you and about 30-40 guys who were way better shooters in college. In particular Salim Stoudamire who was in college at the same time and was a much better shooter.

Excellent sequence by Michael Flowers. Texas played soft on the pick and he rose up and nailed the 3 to take the lead. With just under 3 seconds left, he steals the ball and on his way out of bounds, throws the ball as high in the air as he could, allowing the time to run out with the ball in air over the stands.

Big Ten is owning the Big 12 this year.

meh, 7-4 by my count, but aside from the two texas victories, the rest was amassed against bottom dwellers.

(2 vs Mizzou, 1 vs OSU, 1 vs CU, 1 vs ISU)

If only KU would do a home and home with some of the Big Ten schools. I really wish we would get a Big Ten Big Twelve thing going too.

we're in the middle of one vs Mich St, but we haven't been able to fulfill the back end (@MSU) for a long time. We do it next year, i believe.

I wouldn't mind playing Indiana or Illinois, too.

Well that sure was a painful loss. We had Butler on the ropes with our best FT shooter at the line to potentially ice the game and he missed the free throw with 6 seconds left. Butler goes down the court and AJ Graves heaved a 35 footer in at the buzzer to win it.

This sucks.

That loss was utterly brutal, I'm still sore from it. If I ever see him, I'm going to break Graves' knee.

Iowa beat SE Louisiana 57-50 tonight. But since we needed another kick in the balls, it looks like freshman PF Jarryd Cole has a torn ACL and is out for the year. After earning a starting spot he was averaging almost 10 points and 7 boards in those last 7 games.

Not only does it make us even worse heading into the Big Ten, but he was maybe the biggest bright spot of this year and watching the younger guys develop was the best thing we had to look forward to.

Tyler has been a nice addition. It's funny, but Lofton went from being our best player to our 3rd best thanks to 2 transfers. Tyler obviously has been better than Lofton, but JP Prince has the entire program buzzing. It's nice to see Tennessee winning with Tennessee guys. (Jajuan Smith, Tyler Smith, JP Prince, and Wayne Chism are all Tennesseans.) Too bad Jamont Gordon, Thadd Young, and Brandan Wright all chose to go elsewhere, and Willie Kemp stayed in Memphis, only to surrender his position to a freshman.

I cannot wait to play Memphis. We match up well with them, and Pearl simply outcoaches Cal head to head. Not saying that we will win, but we can, and nobody doubts that (even Tiger fans.)

Perhaps. 13-3 in the SEC is doable, if a little difficult. 16 SEC games, and OOC against Ohio State and Memphis remain. Perhaps 27 wins should be the target.

ND clobbers the chumps from Brown 87-54 in preparation for their duel with one of the worst teams in the country, North Florida, on Monday.

Ball State's best player, Newell, out since game 2 with a foot injury, expected to get some playing time against IPFW on Monday to get ready for league play.

I completely forgot to jokingly trash talk Raisin before the UCLA-UC Davis game today.

I wish we would do one, but I don't think Self will ever come back to Champaign.

Indiana and Kansas had a great series in the early 90's. I miss it. I really, really wish Indiana would pick up Kansas again (or at least someone of their ilk). Stupid Jacque Vaughn.
