I am worried they are going to see the product we put on the floor the next two or three years and all of them don't all end up here. That doesn't scare you at all?

I actually am not as sold on his coaching ability anymore either. His motion offense was great with 5 guys who have played or play in the NBA. But, since that time we stand around and wait for our point guard to chuck up a shot. Nice coaching. We don't have any set plays. Not one. He has not adjusted to his team at all.

I'm really not that worried about decommitts. Everyone keeps freaking out about this because of IDKWTI, but that was a unique situation. Again without the 3 wings, I might be worried about Richmond seeing a sinking ship, but with their committs, I think we're pretty safe they'll all be on campus barring a Watkins-like academic performance.

Re: Bruce's coaching, I don't understand how you can have it both ways. Either you think the recruits he's bringing in are good enough, or you think he's doing a good job coaching the weak talent he's brought in. It can't possibly be both, or this team would be looking at an 8th place finish in the Big 10, and wouldn't have been an epic choke away from winning a tourney game last year. Bruce has his coaching faults, and he has his recruiting faults. I think he's learning on the recruiting trail, and I think his coaching faults can be covered by having the talent on board.(as is the case with just about everyone)

Awesome so we have a guy who has really messed up recruiting and is a so-so game coach. Wait on that 8th in the Big Ten thing might happen this year, will happen next year.

I'd lay just about everything I had against that.

Well I hope you are right, but IU, MSU, and tOSU are lapping us. PU and Wiscy are bettering us in recruiting. Michigan and Minnesota seriously upgraded with their coaches. I am afraid in two years, before the studs get on campus we will be beating only NW, Iowa, and Penn State.

Michigan and Minnesota definitely upgraded coaches, but a coaching change alone does not make up the ton of ground each program had to make up on us. I really think you're overreacting to a loss to a team that will probably be a tourney team. It sucked, and we shouldn't ever lose at home unless it's a top 10 team, but it happens.

If we get Legion, we'll already be back on the upswing next year. A back 3 of McCamey, Jamar(ugh), and Legion is damn good. Alexander/Davis/Tisdale in the frontcourt aren't world beaters, but they're no slouches either. Legion is going to be a pretty big determinant as to whether we're a low seeded team in the tourney from '08-Richmond, or a team that can contend for the Big 10 title. Maybe I'm being too lenient, but barring some disasterous years (this or next), I'm giving him through the '10-'11 season.

Weber couldn't beat Alford on the road without that stud backcourt and even struggled against him at home with superior talent. I wouldn't be so sure about him handling Lickliter's squad in two years. Hell even this year at home.

I'm not saying we're going to be serious contenders but we're not on the level of Northwestern and Penn State and I don't see reason to think we'll be bottom feeders.

You guys are terrible. Take off the Gold and Black glasses. Now if you guys still had the talent you did three years ago we would be getting beat by you. The only guy you have that belongs starting on a DI team is Freeman. I still think he will handle you guys.

SIU-Western Kentucky in an hour and five minutes. Sure would be nice to get a win over a team that has a lot of athleticism and one that will contend for the Sun Belt title.

I don't disagree with any of that this year. I'm talking about the next two years which is what you said in your post.

In two years time we will have brought in Brandon Paul, Joe Bertrand, D.J. Richardson, Stan Simpson, and Alex Legion. Plus we will return Jamar Smith. I don't see where, besides Gatens, that you have any real talent coming in to improve your team.

The refs in this Michigan-UCLA game are an absolute joke.

LOL at UCLA! Go Big Ten haha Maybe UCLA should have been playing some real teams in the last week or so, instead of the mighty Western Illinois University.

Michigan State secede from the Big 10?

EDIT: UCLA is 0-2 against Beline, his zone (all zones) befuddle Howland-coached teams.

Look at the break down by half. 12-11 UCLA in the first half, 108-87 in the second half.

Seriously though I'm so let down. They show that as the final score on the yahoo sports front page and I was about to die from laughter. Then I examined the box score. Yahoo has some of the weirdest goings on with their scores. :?

Horrible first half by IU. Really disappointing considering the circumstances. Coppin St. played at Marquette last night, losing by nearly 50. Traveled by bus to Bloomington, arrived at 5 am this morning. Had their team meal at 8 am. And came out to shoot around at 10am. IU should have completely blew them off the floor early. 28-26 halftime lead. 45-20 second half really helped it looked better than it was for the first 20 minutes. I've always hated this particular game of the season. After finals week, no games for a week, limited practices, and most of the student body home for the holidays. Historically been a tough game for IU to get up for.

DJ White with 21, 8, and 4 blocks, first non-double double in 7 games. Gordon was 2-13 from the field, and had his first game under 20, where he didn't get injured.

Texas is playing at Michigan St. tomorrow. If they can pull off wins at UCLA and Michigan St that will really help in the long run towards getting a #1 seed.

Boy do I hope UCLA meets Texas in the tourney.

EJ, UMFan...bring it. UCLA @ Michigan Saturday morning.

No thanks, you already had your chance ;-). If it does happen I hope it happens in the final four so we can have the home court advantage this time. Not to mention I will make the trip down their to watch.
