Yeah..Indiana was god awful tonight.

Oh well.

At home against Georgia Tech and at SIU next week.

If we beat USC tomorrow, we might actually be favored in that game. I haven't been impressed with IU at all, but I know they're going to bring their A game out next Saturday. We better do the same.

Impressive game from IU and Gordon.... =D>

Gordon struggled, battled foul trouble...and still had 20. IU, on the other hand, as a team stunk.

Yea Im just messing around. Im glad you can take it, and not get all bent out of shape. The IU-UI rivalry is fun. Yea Gordon still had 20, but 12 of those were on free throws. Was he just cold today, or did Xavier do something defensively to throw him off that other teams hadnt done?

I'd say there were a number of factors. This was the first real D-I defense he's faced. Sampson's offense stinks (as we all know) so Gordon pretty much had to go on his own to try and score. He was as off as I've seen him. He picked his third foul with 7-8 or so minutes left in the first half and sat the rest of the way. Finally, the officiating was terrible -- though NOT at all the reason they lost -- and he probably should've shot even more free throws (he was consistently mugged when he got the ball).

IU must get much, much better running some sort of halfcourt offense and defending inside. They've actually regressed on the later, despite actually adding interior players without losing any. Xavier was a game I've been worried about since I first saw IU play -- they're a bad matchup. This week offers two tough games, but Georgia Tech is at home and not that great, and I think IU matches up better with Southern Illinois (not to say they'll win, of course).

Yeah, a horrible shooting game. Again, a lot of 1-on-1 plays. Not nearly enough offensive flow. But even the open shots weren't falling. Couldn't finish around the rim. As for Gordon, Xavier did to him what teams are gonna have to do to contain him. Put a bigger man on him to make it tough for him to shoot. And when he drove to the basket, they threw another big at him. He was frustrated. They were hacking him a lot, most of which was called. On one hand, he played like a freshman by not looking for his teammates when he got in trouble. On the other, he knew his shot was off and still scored 20 by taking it hard to the hole. Xavier was easier the tougher team. They challenged everything IU did. SIU will be the same way. But you are right, we matchup better.

Duke blows out Eastern Kentucky today. EKU only scores 12 points in the first half, while Taylor King scores 13 in the first, and finishes with 27 (6-11 3 pointers). That is the same guy that played 3 minutes against Illinois and Marquette. Brian Zoubek, yet again, racks up 4 fouls against a team that has no player taller than 6'8".

Mizzou reamed Western Illinois by 39 today. They travel to Arkansas wednesday, and travel to Cal on Saturday for the Pac-10/Big XII challenge, before returning home for Purdue next Saturday. Big 2 week stretch in determining how good the team is.

Mizzou beat down WIU, while Kansas State struggled with them. I think its safe to say K State is overrated.

KSU has a lot of talent, but they have a coach (frank martin) who is out of his element. As a result, the team doesn't respect him, and it's only 5 games into the season. There was an interview in a Kansas newspaper where Bill Walker referred to their coach as "Frank." No Coach Martin. not even Coach Frank. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I can't recall another instance where a player referred to his coach by a first name basis.

I can't see the whole thing ending well for KSU. Everyone there knows Martin was hired only to retain a few players. Worst of all, the players know it. And so far they're acting like it.

Probably can't grow as cool a mustache as chainsaw either.

No, I can't imagine things ending well at K-State. At all.

I seem to recall Dee Brown referring to Self as Bill a couple times in private. You're right, though, I've never heard it in public.

In private is different than public. And I could be wrong, maybe it happens all the time, and I'm seeing something that isn't there. It just seems like the players are running the program.

Stuff like this was prevalent at IU during the Mike Davis era. It just shows a lack of discipline.

Yeah, he really RUSHED back. Get it?

I believe collins should be back by conference season, too. He, in some ways, is just as important as Brandon. Rush doesn't look any slower to me so far, but I don't know if I have the evaluation ability to really determine that.
