Maybe the refereeing is bad, maybe Coach K instructs the players to go after the other team's best player to get him in foul trouble, but no way is that the difference in that game. Duke has doubled Wisconsin (38-19)

Its not a coincidence that the best player of the opposing team gets in foul trouble immediatly in almost every game Duke plays, and it has nothing to do with them going after him.

God if only the other coaches had the forsight to go after the other teams best players. But, alas ony Coach K in his infinite wisdom has come up with that plan. Oh well maybe I will email Bruce Weber and let him know of this strategy.

I didnt say that, bu tthere is no way that with different referees, wisconsin would win this game.

No they wouldn't, but shouldn't they get the chance to have their best shot at it? Maybe the reason your winning percentage is so high is because the chance of an upset is taken away with piss poor officiating that benefits you everytime you play. Oh and by you I mean Duke.

See you say that, but you have no proof of that. Is Duke winning big?Yes. Would Wisconsin having their best player on the court make this game different? Probably. Not saying they would be winning, but I dont think it would be out of question to think it may be a 10 point game instead of 20. Thats a big difference there.

Every team that goes into Duke knows they have to be very careful on D or else they will be in foul trouble immediately. It sure would be nice to see Duke play some actual non conference road games at the opposing teams actual homecourt, not at a neutral site.

Any word yet on if the Wisconsin Duke game is the normal 5 on 5 like most college bball, or is Duke playing 7 on 5 like usual?

Wiskys best player Hughes picked up two fouls in the first three minutes. Typical 8-5 match up.

The opposing teams best player in foul trouble immediatly against Duke? noway that never happens....

I know and the point guard to boot. I am also a little sick of hearing about how duke has never lost in the challenge. Maybe if they played a true road game in it. We went to Duke and played, they then came to chicago.

They played Iowa in Chicago in '01 also. I think they've only played 2 actual road games in this entire series.

If Purdue can pull this out the Big Ten may only lose 6-5 but that's as close as it can get.

Holy crap, DeAndre Thomas is one fat MFer.

Jordan Crawford joins AJ Ratliff on the IU suspended list.

IU's looked good after a bad start.

Odds are out for tomorrow's games.

MSU -10.5

UM -5

MD -1

UNC -4 (MADNESS)

PSU -2

Just think about how big DeAndre looked tonight, and then add in the fact that he's lost 55 pounds since July. Seriously.

As for Crawford, it's good to get this out of the way early. He's a freshman who apparently made some kind of a mistake, and 3 games is a pretty big punishment for a rules violation. Hopefully this makes him think twice before ever doing it again.

2 roadies is right for Duke. At Indiana and at MSU. Probably really ticket off Coach K. The last pre-conference true road game for Duke that wasn't part of the Big 10/ACC??? 2002

That's pathetic.

I think you're wrong about that.

I know it's women's basketball but, the UC Davis women's team beat Portland State tonight to stay undefeated at 5-0 going into this Sunday's game at No. 6 Stanford. Hopefully they can replicate what the football team and men's basketball team both did in 2005.

Unless you're counting UNC Greensboro as a true roadie, or their recruiting visit game in Chicago against Valpo, I'm not. They do tend to play a roadie late in the year against either an awful Temple or St. John's team, and to their credit they will break their 6 year streak this season by playing at Temple before conference play begins.

Those are recruiting trips for them.

Yikes. And I thought KU's non-con had been pathetic.

All these premium schools have figured out you can make tons of money by never playing road games. Before our new AD came, we'd play a lot of non-con roadies. But now we've got a guy who's milking every penny he can into the department. In a lot of ways, that's great. Our athletic department was straight from the 1970s before he came, and it was killing most of our sports programs. The downside is, though, stuff like the neutral field for the Border War and soft, home only non-con scheduling in hoops.

We have done a bit better than Duke, though. And this year we have true roadies against USC, Boston College, and G-Tech.

UCLA vs George Washington at Pauley tonight. Alfred Aboya will play after breaking a bone behind his eye against Yale (with protective goggles on). The big news is that Darren Collison is a game-time decision. Hopefully he can get in for about 10-15 mins today so he won't be making his season debut against top-10 Texas.
