I am out of town this week. I was watching Mike and Mike on ESPN 2 this morning. Did they say that Gameday was going to be in Champaign this week?

Gameday would have been there if Illinois would have beaten Iowa.

"We hope to get to a place like Missouri,'' Fowler said. "Champaign is a possibility next week. If Illinois can beat Iowa (today), Illinois-Michigan next week would be one of the more compelling stories out there.''

There's no battle of the titans next Saturday, so Illinois is under heavy consideration.

"We haven't been there ... and I've already talked to the people there,'' Fountain said. "They're very excited about it.''

Notre Dame benches Clausen for Sharpley this week (as per ESPN Bottom Line)

And Aldridge is doubtful. We're gonna get crushed.

Looks like another week of Sanchez for USC too.

Really hope that PSU comes out hot against Indiana

- Road game (they're 0-2 so far)

- Ohio State at home on 10/27

Could be disaster

I'm taking up the inenviable task of hoping Ohio St. keeps winning so that they're undefeated when we play them in Columbus. That 10% chance of us winning there is worth the filth I'll have to feel for the next 3 weekends.

Sanchez >>>> Booty with a gimpy finger

Luckily I'll be in Kalamazoo watching Ball State. A win gives BSU 5 wins with two near-certain wins left on the schedule (Toledo and NIU, who've both been bad), and since 7 wins in the MAC will be plenty to get the 3rd bowl tie-in, it would put the Cards in great position. A loss would put BSU in a position where they'd have to beat Illinois or IU to get to 7, and I don't like our odds in either of those games. Very important game for Ball State.

I'm hoping for that disaster.

I look at this game as winnable for Indiana but they will have to really play well and maybe catch a couple breaks. The pounding by MSU last week has damaged my confidence.

Mississippi State at (9) West Virginia (3:30 pm)

------

Could be a mismatch. Don't be surprised if MSU makes it a game. They, after all, knocked off one hell of an Auburn team (like that UF-Auburn mismatch game...).

I've got Auburn 6, LSU 9. Florida 42, Kentucky 35 (the scoring will probably even be higher than this). Tenn 17, Alabama 14. SC 31, Vandy 7. Arkansas 28, Ole Miss 17 in the SEC.

TT over Mizzou

Rutgers over USF

Colorado over Kansas

Mich over Illinois (BIG)

KSU over OSU

UCLA may give cal a run for their money

Based on what?

And as long as teams keep trying to shut down Rice and making Rutgers QB beat them, opposing teams are going to have success against Rutgers.

hmmm what do i know?

Yeah, I blew that one. The thing I learned from this game is that Grothe doesn't know how to throw the ball away. Yeesh.

that rutgers over usf pick was the easiest "upset of the #2 team in the country" pick ever

I've been saying that S. Florida was overrated for a few weeks now. They beat an Auburn team that was severely struggling at the QB, OL, and RB positions earlier this year, and they beat a West Virinia team that was also a bit overrated and without a healthy starting QB.

i kinda wanted usf to win so there could be a pitiful bc/usf national title game, but after watching usf's qb for five minutes i wanted them to lose.

how have the won all those games with him back there? terrible.

LA Times[/url]"]MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- USC players, coaches and supporters aboard the team's charter flight from Los Angeles endured a harrowing arrival in South Bend, Ind., on Thursday night.

Several players, administrative staff and coaches' spouses said passengers were hurled out of their seats and hit their heads on the ceiling when the plane dropped while making an approach through a lightning storm. The pilot aborted the approach and circled before landing without incident, said Dennis Slutak, USC's director of football operations.

Some of the passengers were not wearing seat belts at the time, but others said their seat belts broke.

"There was a moment there when I was thinking, 'This is it,' " Slutak said.

Said sophomore safety Taylor Mays: "I was screaming."

At their hotel, senior defensive end Lawrence Jackson said he was going to see the team trainer because a popsicle stick had pierced the inside of his mouth during the drop.

A rough couple of weeks for that team.

I can see the headline now, "USC endures more trouble on plane flight than against Irish"

Which reminds me, it came out back in February, but I'm not sure how much it's known nationally - Notre Dame will be wearing throwback green jerseys tomorrow to honor the 30th anniversary of the original green jersey game/1977 national title team.

I think it's a stupid idea (and an obvious marketing ploy for Adidas), but the jerseys should look fairly cool I guess.
